How I Made $3669.92 On Amazon KDP in June
I’m looking forward to sharing my June income report where I’ll be unveiling the ins and outs of my Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) business for June 2023.
So, for June 2023, I made $3669.92, slightly down from May, but that was largely due to a book I created, riding a trend, which pushed up my earnings that month. Despite the drop, I feel like I did slightly better in June because I expanded my portfolio with three word search books, two activity books, and three coloring books.
Looking at my earnings per day, my highest was on Thursday the 29th, where I made $176.09. The lowest was on Sunday the 18th, with earnings of $76.35. Even with the changes to the printing costs on the 20th, I earned $149.98 and $152.43 the day after. It’s rewarding to see these figures when just a year ago, I was making $822.97 for the month, having spent $322.63.
For June, I sold a total of 1649 books. Of note, I currently only have 241 live books, despite having over a thousand titles. Over time, I have unpublished many of my first-year, low-content books that weren’t good enough. The lesson here is that quality and research trump quantity.
Taking a look at the marketplaces, the UK held the majority of my sales with gross earnings of $3001.12. Then came Amazon.com, where I grossed $516.26. The Netherlands, Canada, Australia, and France markets also provided smaller amounts of royalties, which I’m still pleased with.
My best-selling books for the month were an activity book that grossed $1855.20, followed by a logbook grossing $627.90, and a quiz book which made over $380. Additionally, I had two other activity books and a coloring book grossing $185 and $70.
