WHAT?! You want us to support an Android version from 2016?
This is not a priority, but this is just to let you know that there are still people out there who would appreciate Android 6.0 support. Why?
Unfortunately, the final smartphones that do not have planned obsolescence were released around that time.
While new smartphones can be used for most tasks, there are heavy-workload tasks that have to be done on older smartphones with user-replaceable batteries such as long video streaming. Doing that on the new smartphones with non-replaceable batteries would wear those batteries down quickly. It would waste the battery's non-refreshable lifespan.
Can't mobile phone repair shops replace those batteries?
Yes, but it is a burden that requires hours instead of one minute, costs ten times as much, and one can not have reserve batteries at home.
Also, many newer smartphones serial-lock the battery to prevent replacement by third-party shops unapproved by the vendor, which forces users into using older smartphones to evade these perverted restrictions.

There is also a risk of the repair shop breaking something else, or shady technicians violating user privacy.
