Pricing

The application fee for joining Zipcar on the Basic rate plan (with no monthly fee) covers administration costs incurred by us as a company. All of our membership applications are thoroughly checked by our teams to ensure all our eligibility requirements are met. This is to keep our vehicles and members safe. It is for this reason that once the application is submitted and the fee is paid, regardless of the outcome of the application, it is non-refundable due to costs being incurred during the application checking stage before account approval.

Each rate plan has different rates for each vehicle. Members on our Plus plan (London only) get access to the cheapest rates across Roundtrip and Flex with prices starting from £6/hour or £0.32/min. We recommend that anyone who plans to use Zipcar on a monthly basis, should be on a paid plan to save money, plus that each paid plan gives members the monthly fee back in driving credit each month.

In order to get approved as a member, you will need to have held your license for at least 1 year, be 25 or older, have no major violations in the past 3 years and no alcohol or drug-related violations in the last 7 years. If you don't meet these criteria it is highly likely your application will be rejected.

The cost of renting a Zipcar varies depending on the plan you're on, the day you're driving, the city you're in and the vehicle you choose. Zipcar rates start from £6.00/hour for Roundtrip and from £14/hour for Flex. To see the most up-to-date prices for your plan, check the app.
