How do you get into a public game?
Hit "Join game", and take a look at the space under "Public Games". There are zero right now.
The default setting is private but you can choose to make your own game, and make it public under "Options"
I feel like this should have more of a focus on the public games aspect. Make that default maybe?
A few things drawn from my experience building another party game (https://azala.info, Cards Against Humanity web app):
The vast majority of players want private games, and if they do want public games, they are fine with explicitly saying so.
The thought of "who are all these randos joining our game" is devastating to user experience, even if you can explicitly ban them.
Regardless of opt-in or opt-out, if the game gets enough private game players, there will naturally be a public game ecosystem that follows.

It's our own. We actually have 3 different ones we use that look the same but have different data loading functionalities.

Yeah I think so. We only had a small group playing today, not our usual larger group, so I don't have opinions from all of our regulars yet. But I really liked being able to add in the custom deck. We've been playing pretend you're xyzzy at least twice a week, and the cards are just getting stale.
Done, just start a new game and select the "No Time Limits" option.
If you run into any problems, shoot me a feedback on the left sidebar of the site itself. I don't check this reddit account too often.
That's awesome! Thanks so much, I can't wait to try it for our next game!
Cool! Got your message from a few minutes ago through the feedback form.
One question - did you end up faking dictator mode by deciding on the vote and having everyone click the same choice, or did you go actual democracy?

One of my major gripes with pretend you're xyzzy is the number of games with custom decks that are full of injokes only understood by a few people.
This is true. Although in either game, you can pick which decks to use at the start.
Can not edit a custom deck after creating it.
Save it again under the same name. I'll make it easier in the future.
