Nintendo likes to err on the side of neutrality, but the Wokecult demands censorship only be applied to the Right, and never be enforced on the Left. Jase discusses.

Neko Secret Homecoming is another one of those lewd sliding puzzle games, but this time there's a bit of a twist if you can call it that. First you have to explore a small town and open safes. In 4 of those there are digits to open up the anime factory (kek), where you have the main game - the image puzzles - along with a couple of other features like changing your character's appearance, taking a bath and playing darts. The preamble to the lewd pictures seems like busywork, but at least it's nothing too annoying. The rest of the mini-games aren't really worth it. That being said the art of the girls is pretty good, you get uncensored toplessness and solving the puzzles is relaxing. There are 12 catgirls in total each with 3 forms of undress, so there's a good amount of content.

Super Mario 64 (スーパーマリオ64, Sūpā Mario Rokujūyon), commonly abbreviated as SM64, is a Super Mario series game for the Nintendo 64. It was released as a launch title for the console in 1996 in Japan and North America and in 1997 for the rest of the world. On July 18, 1997, a Rumble Pak-compatible re-release of the game, titled Super Mario 64: Shindō Pak Taiō, was released in Japan. This is the first 3D installment of the Super Mario series, let alone the Mario franchise in general.

At the time, it received widespread critical acclaim and has been often said to have defined its genre by being one of the first well-made games of its type. The game has since received a remake on the Nintendo DS in the form of Super Mario 64 DS. There was also going to be a sequel made, called Super Mario 128, but it was canceled. The Super Mario 64: Shindō Pak Taiō re-release is the version included in Super Mario 3D All-Stars for the Nintendo Switch, though with upscaled graphics and a redrawn HUD. At 11.89 million copies, Super Mario 64 is the best-selling Nintendo 64 game.

Club Nintendo

Completed the Cavern of the Strong dungeon on Hard and got a bonus image. This also unlocked the Cavern of Legends dungeon. Even on Easy each monster here is a 5-star, so you must have a pretty solid deck to clear it. I did so and the reward was an extra config modifier giving you 2x gold in Player vs Computer battles. I rarely play those outside of the goddess battles, but it's something.

Mario has heard rumors of a abandoned home that has been close to the Mushroom Kingdom over a century. That people who go inside it never come back. Mario and Princess Peach were supposed to investigate the strange place but Mario decided to go alone. Inside the home he finds a strange music box that was playing by itself. Little that he know that a "harmless" music box would of cause the home to try eat him alive.

I tried to complete Seasons of Love twice, failing both times when attempting a 3-star battle. Unless you have a really great deck those don't seem to be worth it in the main campaigns and should only be attempted in the remixes where you have time to build your arsenal. I still managed to unlock a couple of new bullets in the process, so it wasn't a complete waste.

Hentai Girls is another one of those sliding puzzles where you get to undress anime waifus. The art is pretty good and you get toplessness in this one, but the gameplay is rather simple since you just have to reverse the changes you see at the beginning of the stage. Also having DLC stages as a screen on the main game is in poor taste. The game is pretty cheap, but there isn't much there.

Kid Klown in Crazy Chase is an action game developed by Kemco, and published by Kemco (in North America in Japan) and Nintendo (in Europe). It was also released for Game Boy Advance.

In order to gain control of Kid Klown's home planet, evil space pirate Black Jack kidnaps princess Honey. Her father sends Kid Klown after Black Jack to rescue Princes Honey. Unfortunately, Kid crashes down on a planet, because he pushes the wrong button, and now Black Jack is after them and tries to blow him up with bombs.

In each stage, Black Jack has planted a bomb with a very long fuse. Kid must run through the level and reach the bomb before the burning end of the fuse. The game is played from an isometric view. Kid runs down a path towards the lower right corner. He can jump and speed up or slow down, but he cannot go back. Kid needs to avoid the many traps, obstacles and attacks by Black Jack on his way.
Apart from reaching the bomb in time, Kid also needs to collect four card suit orbs. The orbs are hidden inside balloons scattered around the stage. Kid needs to catch the balloons containing the orbs (they are also in the same place). Other balloons contain either items or traps. If Kid reaches the bomb but did not collect all the orbs, he has to repeat the stage with his remaining health.

Hentai Dream is another one of those puzzle games where upon completion you get a sexy image. The characters are obviously anime inspired. I recognise the raccoon girl as Ralphtalia from Rising of the Shield Hero and some of the others also look familiar. Unfortunately you don't get toplessness here, so the PC version of the game is the one to play. It's weird since there are other titles which have nudity on the Switch.

After discovering Nintendo was not going to give Kotaku a review copy of The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, a couple of their journalists decided to have a meltdown on Twitter about it.

https://boundingintocomics.com/2023/05/03/kotaku-journalist-luke-plunkett-insinuates-a-desire-for-anti-japanese-violence-in-response-to-nintendo-denying-the-outlet-a-review-copy-of-the-legend-of-zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom/

It's understandable why Nintendo would decide not to do business with a gaming rag that is constantly writing hit pieces about them, and of course, journos see this as a personal attack...

The boss of the Egg Engines level was fittingly a robot called Metal General. He wasn't too difficult as long as you keep him at a distance plus I used the mecha ability against him, which made things easier. The next level Dangerous Dinner had stages filled with lava and fire. Here I managed to find the rest of the Energy Spheres, which unlocks a dialogue with Magolor, who reveals that he got the Lor ship from the volcano where Landia lives and that the ship may have a mind of its own. He also reveals that he had heard of Kirby before they ever met because of his heroic deeds - in the business we call this foreshadowing. Kirby then has to face Landia - the 4-headed dragon. The battle is somewhat challenging, so you have to keep an eye on its attacks and not stay too close to it. Halfway during the battle it splits into 4 individual dragons who bombard you with fire. When you defeat them Magolor appears and takes the crown from Landia. He reveals that he manipulated Kirby to help him defeat Landia and get the Master Crown - a source of ultimate power. Then like the complte dick he is, he goes to conquer planet Popstar. Then the Landia dragons let Kirby and his friends ride them in order to stop Magolor. You play a shmup level and have to fight the Lor at the end. Magalor than knocks you off of Landia and you have to face him on foot. I picked up the Mecha power again since it's the best for combat. Magolor throws a variety of projectiles at you, but isn't too difficult. He then becomes invulnerable to regular attacks, so you have to pick up a super power in order to damage him. The final hit with the super sword triggers a power struggle and then Kirby hits him with the all sword combo with a mega sword at the end for good measure. Unfortunately it turns out that Magolor had another form. His attacks are even more vicious and he teleports all over the place. Thankfully if you die like I did you'd restart from this form. Defeating this monster destroys the Master Crown, Landia and Lor help Kirby and friends to get back to planet Popstar and you get a happy ending. Completing the game unlocks the Extra mode, which is a much more challenging version of the main campaign, The Arena - a boss rush mode and Magolor's Epilogue, where you play as the villain, who is cast to a different dimension after being defeated. The amount of content in this game is unreal.

If it's not already obvious Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe is a fantastic game. It has a very gentle difficulty slope, but you need to be competent by the end of the game and especially if you are to collect all the Energy Spheres. There are some decent puzzles, but nothing too complicated - just an awareness of how the copy abilities work. Then there's the Magoland mini games, which can be enjoyed with a group of friends. All of those have great variety and are fun to play. There's plenty to unlock in terms of masks in there giving you an incentive to play and complete the different challenges. This is honestly one of the best games on the Switch and it's worth getting if you are fan of platformers.

Gave the Dark Mirror world another try. Things were going pretty good in terms of artefacts and I even found the Rock Star skull, which is one of the best in the game. That is until I got to the empowered rookie hero. This battle is ludicrously hard for all the wrong reasons - for one thing his attacks can juggle you, including the tracking energy orbs. This means that a single mistake can mean a quarter of your life gone. Next his an annoying damage sponge - even your special moves only do chip damage to this clown. He of course got me killed despite my best efforts. The frustration continued when I went back to the castle and gave 20 000 Dark Quartz to the Death Knight to restore it, thinking this must have been the final sum. Nope. This cretin actually wants 100 000 more. Is this some sort of a sick joke from the developers to waste your hard earned Dark Quartz? You are better off buying any items you don't have from the shop and even if you don't need them - sell them for gold. In any case I then went for a regular run and managed to collect the Fairy Tale perk from having 5 items summoning different spirits. The effect was that Fairy King Oberon now also follows you. He shoot lasers at enemies at a rather slow rate, so he isn't really worth the 5 slots needed for him. As an additional fail he actually glitched out after a boss battle and disappeared and only after re-equiping an item did he come back. This was the last straw for me - even experimenting with new items is a bit pointless if they are going to break their effects. The more I played, the more I realised the biggest problem with the game - the randomness of skulls and items. This wouldn't be such a big issue if most of them were good in a different way, but overall there are ones which are much better than others and nearly essential for your survival since the game doesn't really give you enough healing items. I honestly advise people to swallow their pride and play on rookie mode to actually complete it. The Dark Mirror seems like an even more unfair challenge where you are dependent on the extra perks, which you need to get more Core Quartz, which is again dependent on luck of whether you encounter dark enemies in the stage. The 9-item limit really restricts your character to the point where you have to choose between healing and damage dealing. I'm officially done with this game. It has plenty of the elements I hate about rogue-like titles with the dependence on luck being the main one.

The level 4 boss was Goriath a yeti-like creature with a variety of quick attacks. In the second stage of the fight he turns Super Saiyan and throws some kamehamehas your way. The Ninja power was quite suitable for this battle since you can hit him from a distance even when Goriath is sticking to walls. The next level - Nutty Noon - is cloud themed. A new copy ability I found here is the Wing, which allows you to fly and it's quite mobile. Stage 5 here was notable since it was a boss rush mode against a lot of the mini-bosses in the game. The actual boss battle for the level was against the Grand Doomer, who is like the creatures you usually get gears from, but this one is quite challenging. During the second phase of the fight it becomes invulnerable to regular attacks by Kirby can pick up the Super Sword ability. You have to choose the moment to strike after its teleports and bouncing around. Kirby then finishes him with a badass combo using all the different giant swords. You then get the last part of Magolor's ship and he takes you to his home world Halcandra. There you are attacked by a 4-headed dragon named Landia, who Kirby now has to defeat.

Still, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful songs ever made. Maybe it’s the nostalgia of playing Ocarina of Time with my little brother when we were kids. Though it was not the first Zelda game I played, it has had the strongest impact on my love for the series. And quite possibly the story with the most heartbreaking end. I retitled the track as “The Hero of Time” to emphasize the importance of that game's theme.

A necessary song to know when you need to return to the spirit temple and according to Hyrule’s history “A requiem is a form of music whose theme is a prayer for the salvation of the souls of the departed, and it is used both at services immediately preceding a burial, and on occasions of more general remembrance.”

I decided to give the Dark Mirror another go. Things were going pretty well since I was shielded for most of my run thanks to various artefacts. Unfortunately everything went south when I reached the empowered hero. It was the Warrior and he was an absolute monster with some of his hits dealing around 50 damage and random rocks quickly appearing from the ground. You don't know his patterns and he's an annoying damage sponge. Even the Quintessence attack barely did anything to him and it was one of the better ones.

The levels in Onion Ocean unsurprisingly continue to be filled with a lot of underwater sections. Even the level boss is a big Puffer fish. At the halfway point during the battle it grows to twice its size, but once you learn the patterns it's not too difficult. You get another part of Magolor's ship for your victory and proceed to the next level - White Wafers. Here I found the Ninja copy ability, which has some pretty cool mechanics, like dash-slashing, sticking to walls and even an Izuna drop like suplex. During one of the stages I got to use the super hammer power up, which you can enhance by turning the left stick. Not the most practical in combat, but it's serviceable and you get to solve the puzzles in the level using. Same can be said about the super Ice ability, which transforms you into a giant snow ball used to take down giant bowling pins and even complete a snowman.

Deadline published a report of the Biggest Box Office Bombs of 2022. Of the Top 5, Disney had the Top 3 Box Office Bombs according to the report. Two of those being Strange World and Lightyear. Those movies were praised for their representation. Yet, The Super Mario Bros Movie doesn't contain that. Is that why the critics hate The Super Mario Bros Movie?

Moe Waifu H is something of a rhythm game where you have to match incoming symbols with the one currently active in the centre, while looking at a picture of a girl. With each new level you get a different outfit as expected from these ecchi-like games. The controls here are quite comfortable with each of the shoulder buttons corresponding to one of the symbols and once you start playing you eventually sync in and can react quite quickly. What makes this game a bit of a chore to play is that each costume has 3 difficulty levels - first you only get symbols directly above, next they also appear from the sides and finally the diagonals are added. It might sound like a weird complaint, but the rate that they appear is rather slow, making you wait for several seconds after you cleared one, making it unsatisfying to play. Plus having to clear 3 stages for a single costume feels more like grind because of that. Overall I quite like the mechanics and the art is OK, but for some reason the gallery is very limited. You can see the character art, but you can't put it in a diorama. This was a cheap game, but I wish there was a bit more to it.

Decided to abandon the Black Mirror challenge for the moment and see if anything was changed in the regular campaign. I even tried the Rookie mode, which reduces the incoming damage making the game slightly more fun to play. From what I could see the mechanic where you can steal from the mini-bosses to gain gold and health is now permanent, but that isn't that big of a change. Another thing I noticed is now when you destroy spells you increase your max HP by a small amount of health - it's an improvement, since before you got nothing. In the shop I picked up the new Balrog spell for Dark Quartz and the entire run got defined by that. When used you transform into a Balrog, a power monster, which just has a single attack of slamming the ground and bringing out flaming boulders. Its one special move is summoning said boulders on all platforms all around you. While in Balrog form you do crazy amounts of damage and its dash (one of the major negatives about power skulls) covers a huge distance. Your attacks also juggle most enemies, so you don't really have to worry about retaliation. I also managed to upgrade the Living Armour skull to its final form - the Soul Knight. Aside from the visuals it isn't much better, since power skulls in general are not great in this game. Another final form I was was the Frozen Soul, which is the ultimate version of the ice skull. This one is pretty good since even in its basic form you can freeze bosses, opening them up for more damage. I even managed to defeat the archbishop (likely thanks to the damage reduction) and only lost to the second form of the First Hero. This was an actually fun run. I recommend people use the Rookie mode setting to make this game less grindy and reduce the RNG deaths.

Used a bunch of new powers like the super Kirby one (at least it's how I'm calling it) which allows you to fly upwards for a short period of time. It's not great for combat, but it's fund to use. The water ability is one of the best since its dash attack gives you a brief invincibility while riding the wave. Eventually I reached the level boss - Mr. Dooter. He's a genie-like character who uses a variety of magic tricks, including growing in size. He wasn't too difficult and once you defeat him you get another part of Magalor's ship. The next level had a lot of underwater portions. In one of the stages I found the super Ice ability allowing Kirby to turn into a giant snowball crushing everything in his path. The Mech copy ability is fantastic for combat. You get to fire lasers and even charge them for extra damage, plus you can fly without interruption.

After some exploration I found the final upgrade for the Ice and Fire magic. The former unlocked a new costume. I also learned that some enemies are only vulnerable to melee attacks when the Fire spell is charged. Nobeta then reached the Spirit Throne, which she needs to reunite her body and soul. There she met Nonota - the crafted soul who was occupying her body, while Nobeta was sealed in the throne. Since she didn't want to disappear in a bit of a twist she is the final boss of the game. Nonota can use all the elemental magic you can, but her projectiles are slightly different and it takes a bit of getting used to to know how to dodge them. My regular strategy of Ice magic focus attacks works pretty good here as well since you have enough distance to react to her spells. After you bring her health down to about a half she can now summon parts of the previous bosses, who attack you independently of her. The battle is quite intense and you have to be on your feet and keep an eye on your mana. After you defeat her Nobeta decides to save Nonota's soul and put her in the dead body of the Black Cat, who was her servant before she died. Then Nobeta and Nonota leave the castle and the game ends in a somewhat wholesome way. You unlock a New Game+ where you get to keep all your spells and upgrades, but the monsters are stronger. You also gain access to a Video gallery, where there are short humorous animations with the characters from the game. The joke about Ice magic being too powerful got me. I kind of wish the game had this lighthearted theme rather than the usual dreary Sous atmosphere.

Little Witch Nobeta is an interesting title. While I'm not a fan of Souls-like games, it is not as punishing as those titles and the mostly ranged combat makes things easier. Plus not losing your souls when you die encourages more experimentation and exploration. Some of the boss fights early on can feel a bit cheap, but there are no more difficulty spikes. I do like that there were some puzzles involving the spells, but I wish there were more of them. The characters designs are OK and there's a good enemy variety. The story here is pretty basic at the end of the day - Nobeta trying to recover her soul. You don't really learn a lot about the boss characters aside from them being crafted souls with personality quirks. The world building is done in the usual Souls way of reading descriptions of items you collect and I don't really enjoy that style. From what I gathered the humans were terrorised by other mystical creatures, which led to the rise of the Church and the exploitation of the crafted souls as foot soldiers in this war. Nobeta was replaced by one such soul so that they could use her powers. I was pretty thorough, but I still missed several collectables including some spell upgrades. Those are a bit too well hidden and you have no indication where to find them. To my surprise I enjoyed this game more than I thought I would. Not really sure how much hardcore Souls fans will like it, but it's an easy entry into the genre.

The game got updated with the free Dark Mirror DLC. This didn't start off well - unfortunately the game's default language became Korean, so I had to mess in the menus to change it back to English. Normally this wouldn't be that big of an issue, but in said menu there is the option to reset your data meaning all the grind you did and all the artefacts you unlocked would've been lost. Thankfully I got lucky and didn't do that, but putting the player in that situation is pretty bad.

In any case after you talk to the newly added Dwarf engineer in the castle you see a cutscene of the the Witch and Skul finding a huge piece of Dark Quartz, which turns into a mirror. When Skul touches it, he's transported into a different reality. He sees how another version of the Witch is attacked by the First Hero and saves her. The Mirror is then transported into the Castle and serves as a portal to this different dimension, which is somewhat of a challenge mode. Here you don't have the Castle bonuses like the starting skulls, items and blessings. The levels are the same, but there are a ton of new more difficult enemies. Even when I reached the miniboss, the Warrior's move set was altered and he was definitely more difficult. Thankfully when you defeat him you can search his body for healing items and gold. The Rookie Hero was also there, but he was unable to fight, so you can rob him as well. Later on when I reached the Ent, it also had an extra attack of spawning spikes from the ground forcing you to constantly move. To balance out all this extra difficulty when you complete a level you go into a pocket dimension where a ghost can give you extra perks for Core Quartz - a new resource which you collect from dark enemies who are empowered versions of regular foes. The next major hurdle were the Leiana sisters, who are now even faster than before and take more damage. Things get even worse when you defeat one of them and the other one becomes corrupted. She has attacks similar to her regular version, but they are all upgraded and you have less of an opportunity to dodge them. Miraculously I defeated them and proceeded forward. One weird bug that I noticed is that the music during the mini boss battles stops for no reason. The Chimera wasn't too different than its regular self, but it spews much more poison and when it summons enemies some debris also fall with them. Things were going well until I reached the empowered Rookie Hero. He's an absolute monster here - his attacks are incredibly fast, his slashes cover half the screen and his homing projectiles are unavoidable if you are not expecting them. He destroyed me.

Overall this new mode is giving you a somewhat new way to play the game and an even greater challenge. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much extra story content, so you are just going through the bosses again.

The Super Mario Bros Movie has broken a lot of Box Office Records Opening Weekend. A lot of them had to do with prior Video Game Adaptations, but The Super Mario Bros Movie beat a record previously held by Disney's Frozen 2. Lost Epic is a 2D action game with some Souls-like elements. It's from the same developers who made Earth's Dawn - another 2D action game - which had some clunky animations, but the combat was satisfying. The same is true here, but to a lesser degree. You play as a knight who was summoned by the witch Cecilia. You get to pick your character (which I guess is purely cosmetic) and you can even select one of the protagonists from Earth's Dawn, which is pretty cool, but I don't think she fit the setting. Apparently once an Elder God left this world the power vacuum was filled by New Gods who persecute all those who don't worship them. You task is to defeat them. The gameplay is pretty straightforward - you have a mix of light and heavy attacks, a jump button, a dodge and Divine skills - special moves which have a cooldown after usage. Unfortunately this game has a stamina bar, which I'm not a fan of, but it's manageable. Divine skills don't require stamina and you can counter some enemy attacks with them, which leaves them vulnerable to a damaging strike. The currency you collect in this game is called Anima and you can use it to level up or create weapons and items. You gain skill points which you use to boost your stats, but each weapon has its own skill tree and some skills are only unlocked if you perform a certain task or a side quest. It's honestly rather overwhelming and hard to comprehend in its entirety. You can carry 2 sets of weapons, but so far I've stuck with the default sword after upgrading it somewhat.

Snow Bros Special is a port of the classic arcade game with some new levels added in. You play as one of two brothers who were turned into snowmen and have to rescue the princesses. You can shoot snowballs to turn your enemies into bigger snowballs, which you can push towards your other foes. You get powerups for your shot making it be more effective and reach further. The game is fun to play, but death comes easily since it was designed for arcades and they want your money, but thankfully there are unlimited continues. The new bosses that are added fit design-wise, but are more difficult than the originals. Overall it's a pretty good port, with some frustration towards the end, but I would recommend it if you have nostalgia for the original.

Had a rematch against the giant doll, but this time I managed to defeat her. Or so I thought. She re-emerges again and starts chasing you on a bridge and then corners you. You don't have time to charge your spells and you can't really avoid her attacks, so I went in on the damage with the fire spell. This defeated her for good. After some exploration I discovered some more spell upgrades and then reached an arena. Here I met Vanessa again who through that kiss managed to follow Nobeta in the spirit realm. She is even faster than before, so much so that my usual tactic of abusing the ice focus spell didn't work. You get a very limited opportunity to safely shoot her, so the thunder was the spell to defeat her. Dodging here is essential and breaking the crystals she creates after a ground slap will restore some of your mana. Upon her defeat Nobeta absorbs Vanessa's essence and continues forward.

At last my first fully finished animation is here.

I really thought I would be done years ago, didn't think it would take me this long, I can only blame my lack of experience and skill and although it is not as polished as I would have it envision it in my mind. I am very glad that it is completed at this moment.

AMB Animation Academy - A big thanks your videos have really helped me improved so much in hand drawn animation and gave more life to my vision.

And the Star of the Show Reggie Fils-Aimé - A (very late} Goodbye video, I hope you have a happy retirement and enjoy every minute of it, thank you once again for what you have done at Nintendo.

The Sand is pretty good and versitile in most situation and even though the Rock is not great for combat it's very charming with the multiple statues Kirby can turn into. Later on I got the super powered version of the electrical power, which generates a big lightning ball that you can control and move around across the screen.

Blade Assault is a 2D action game with some rogue-lite elements. You play as Kil an ex-soldier for a regime in a futuristic setting, who is out for revenge against his former masters who apparently killed his parents. He escapes prison only to be defeated by one of the dictator's minions. He's then rescued by some rebels and provided new a weapon for his quest. You have a basic attack going into a combo, which can be charged, a special move and a subweapon projectile both costing mana. You can double jump and dash, so despite the simple move set the action is fast-paced and responsive. As you go through the levels you collect red crystals, which can be used to buy upgrades and healing items in the levels. When you die you lose all your red crystals, so there's no point in saving them. Instead there are a bunch of other currencies (a bit too many in my view) which are used for permanent upgrades at the base. There's also a system where the longer you play the tougher the enemies become, so you are encouraged to go through the levels faster, even though you can also hack that for a price and reduce the threat level. This all sounds overly complicated, but the simple action gameplay will keep all those systems in the background. Even though I'm not a huge fan of rogue-lite games this one doesn't feel grindy or unfair in its difficulty.

Curse of the Sea Rats is a 2D beat 'em up game with some Metroidvania elements. The story is pretty simple - an English ship arrests the pirate-witch Flora Burn, who uses a magical amulet to turn everybody on board into rats and crash the ship. She then kidnaps the admiral's son, who in turn offers 4 prisoners their freedom if they help to get it back. These are your playable characters. I picked Akane Yamakawa, who is the only character, whose description didn't make the British Empire look like the bad guys. She was on a task to find the Eye of the Serpent amulet and give it to the shogun. This is the exact item Flora used to turn everyone into rats. It turns out that the amulet was possessed by an ancient spirit called Wu Yun and he helps you out since you have one half of the amulet. The gameplay is pretty simple - you have your basic combo attack, jump and a magic attack requiring mana. Blocking is a pretty good thing since you can counter regular enemies' attacks and stun them for a bit, but this doesn't work for bosses it seems. Weirdly enough there isn't a dodge button, making the combat more grounded. Later on you obtain a backstep after defeating a boos, which is not as useful, but it's something. You also get a classic double jump after beating another boss. When it comes to boss fights they are more of a survival game since you can't block their attacks so you have to avoid them and deal as much damage as possible. One thing worth a mention - every time you die you respawn at a checkpoint and Wu Yun gives you snide remark about how you suck - this is not appreciated and especially frustrating when you die due to the game's clunky platforming or overwhelming bosses - terrible design choice. You keep most of your experience when you die, but there is the Souls mechanic where you have to pick it half of it from the place where you died. With said experience you unlock skills and upgrades, so a good strategy is to use it when available.

Now that I've completed the game, I decided to experiment with different skulls and artefacts. First thing to mention is the Davy Jones skull, which I bought for Dark Quartz from the store. It's a power skull, which uses a canon to attack and it's special moves load the canon with special canon balls. It having projectiles is an interesting twist, but if you don't keep track of your ammo you may get into a situation where you can't really attack. Plus like most power skulls it's rather slow with a singe dash. You can zone regular enemies in the levels, but it's not great against bosses. One awesome artefact I found was The Ring - a clear reference to the One Ring from Tolkien and it gives you a major boost in all your stats and it's one of the best singular items. Another interesting trinket is the Doomsday - it causes an explosion every 44 seconds and its damage is proportional to the physical damage you've dealt in between blasts. Then I upgraded the Warrior to its final form - the Warlord. It does tons of damage, but I still don't like the charge functionality - most enemies won't give you the time to use it properly. Maybe it's useful against some bosses, but I wouldn't keep it. On a subsequent run I upgraded the Alchemist to the Dark Alchemist, which is a pretty good option with its ranged attack and periodic summoning of a golem. I also upgraded the Samurai to a Neo Samurai, which is pretty much the same, but its skills do more damage and are cooler looking. A really funny artefact I got was Pot of Greed named and looking like the Yu-Gi-Oh card. It's a pretty powerful item in its own right - it increases both your physical and magic attack for each legendary skull and item you posses, so it's great for the endgame.

Scouted the Tune of X'mas dungeon on Hard and completed the Tower of Time and Greed dungeon of Hard. This earned me quite a few new commanders and a new config to earn more gold in the player vs computer battles (which I don't play all that often).

After some exploration I headed for the throne. There you have to face Vanessa - another doll looking to obtain its power. Her attacks are pretty quick and she could be hard to hit, but all this is negated by the Ice focus attack. Just using that while dodging is what allowed me to beat her on the first attempt. Maybe it was the upgrades or I finally learned how the game is played, but she wasn't much of a challenge. After you defeat her Nobeta sits upon the throne, but is ambushed by a still living Vanessa, who kisses her and disappears. The black cat then seemingly dies and Nobeta is transported to a new place. You no longer have access to the castle's areas via the Goddess statues. Nobeta's personality has changed - she speaks more confidently and even her dodge has transformed into a much more effective dash. I guess her true personality was sealed inside the throne and the person you play as is just part of her soul or even her without the memories. The enemies in this spirit world are pretty powerful, but not unmanageable. Eventually I encountered a huge flying doll monster, which killed me.

Hi everyone
This channel – Red Pill Raps - is to showcase my raps to the public. I have been rapping as a hobby for about 10 years and like to rap about controversial subjects. I do not take myself very seriously. Some of these lyrics are meant to be offensive to trigger people and do not necessarily reperesent my actual views due to them sometimes being satirical or my opinion simply changing over time.

This run started as an experiment to level up the Gene skull, but I actually managed to (finally) beat the game. Early on I got the Shadow Knights spell, which is possibly the best one in the game. Then I got a pretty good item called the Forbidden Sword, which upon killing 300 enemies turns into the Evil Sword Kirion. The latter has some great properties like a great increase in physical damage and doing extra hits when you attack or dash. Later on I got the Rock Star skull. I decided to keep it and upgrade it to see what it looks like. I had a terrible first impression when I tried it beforehand, because it normal attack absolutely sucks. The thing is that this skull has one of the best dash moves in the game allowing you to pretty easily perform consecutive air dashes without falling to the ground for quite some time. Combine this with special moves that deal damage in an area without you being there, the Sylphid Wings unleashing tracking projectiles after 10 areal dashes and Kirion's damaging trail of slashes after a dash and you have a killer combo. I was lucky again when I obtained a Voodoo Doll, giving you a single resurrection and upon use it gives you a major boost in magic damage. This did save me since I stupidly died during the Chimera boss fight. I upgraded the Rock Star to the Super Rock Star, which further enhanced its special moves. I also reached the Gene's final form - the Magnifico. It creates multiple clones when attacking, dashing and using special moves, making it one of the best power skulls out there. Plus it can dash twice, which is a rarity for that type.

I managed to defeat the Archbishop (who glitched again) and then went up against the First Hero. Thanks to the Super Rock Star's abilities I didn't have a problem with his first form, but his second one managed to kill me once. After defeating this form the First Hero still wouldn't give up and while heavily injured he continued to fight. He even told you that he realises how corrupt the Carleon kingdom has become and even so he would defend the innocent citizens. He's truly the best character in the game - a grieving father who is still duty bound. I almost didn't want to win during that last phase since his attacks were slower and more desperate, but I didn't want to risk losing everything in the hopes of an alternate ending. Upon his defeat the First Hero talked about all his regrets including not spending more time with his son and even pleaded with you to show mercy to the regular people of Carleon. It was tragic that you had to fight your own father and didn't get the option to save him. In a way it was kind of scummy for the Witch to not tell you about this and manipulate you into killing your own father. You then save the Demon King and get a somewhat happy ending of peace being established, while sequel baiting with the true enemy to caused all this to happen.

Skul The Hero Slayer is a pretty good rogue-like game with all of the genre's issues. The gameplay is addictive and the combat is responsive. The great variety of skulls and abilities gives you a lot to experiment with. Unfortunately like most games of its kind it's very grindy and a lot of it depends on the luck of getting the best skull/item combination. Most of the time after I upgraded everything I died by simply being grinded down to low health by all of the levels - there are rarely health items in the stages and the restorative passive skills aren't very helpful. The story is fantastic, but ultimately quite short and chances are it will be fragmented between multiple runs. The level design is OK, but some enemies can be quite cheap dealing tons of damage. Plus as you play you eventually get tired of seeing the same patterns over and over again. There are some technical issues like game crashes that are worth a mention, but thankfully you don't lose your progress. This game is a mixed bag - while I enjoyed a lot of elements in it, I struggle to completely recommend it. If you are a fan of the roguelike genre, this is definitely worth a try, but otherwise maybe wait for a sale.

Souldiers is a 2D Metroidvania, where you play as a nameless soldier. The story so far is pretty vague - your unit got trapped underneath a mountain and seemingly died. Than a Valkyrie appears and she opens a portal to a new realm where you have to prove yourself and earn your place in the upcoming battle for Ragnarok by finding the Guardian of this world. You choose between Scout, Archer and Caster as your playable character. I went with the Scout since he seemed like a pretty standard warrior without any gimmicks (and I wasn't sure how well aiming is implemented in this game). You have light and heavy sword attacks and you can also block and parry. It's a bit weird that the parry is a separate button, but still. Down the line you can use different types of bombs to open new paths and attack enemies, but those require ammo shards. Regardless of the type of bomb you use your ammo goes down, meaning that if you have 5 regular bombs and 6 combat ones, using one will reduce the stock of the other, which is a bit counter-intuitive. I eventually found fire to imbue my weapon with, which allows you to burn spider webs and has an effect on enemy damage depending on their weaknesses and resistance. Eventually I faced a boss called Dark Lance. Defeating him earned me a multi-stab move, but it requires energy. I quite like that the game has some environmental puzzles to solve if you are to proceed.

After a snipe-out fight I found a secret passage, which led to the very first area of the game. There I discovered a boss fight against an armour similar to what you first faced, but much quicker and with more devastating attacks. Defeating it earned me the Teleport ability, which allows you to move between Goddess statues, making exploration much easier. I searched through all the previous levels and discovered plenty of new items expanding the lore and even several spell upgrades.

The Super Mario Bros Movie is showing all of the signs that it will be one of, if not the biggest movie of 2023. It's based on a well known video game franchise and the main star, Chris Pratt, is not attacking the fans over legitimate concerns. I'm sure this will go a long way to win over fan trust for this movie

Had 2 unsuccessful runs, but at least I managed to upgrade the Water Skull to its final form - the Poseidon. Like most power skulls, it's great for the earlier levels (in fact it's one of the best with its wave ability), but the single dash severely limits you in the later stages. I did the same for the Rider - its final form Nightmare summons a few extra skeletons on motorcycles who mimic your attacks. It's a good versatile skull, but the Hell Bike special move is way too tricky to control, especially when you have pits. Both times I lost too much health before reaching the archbishop.

While exploring the dark dungeons I picked up the Thunder spell. It costs a ton of mana, but deals high damage and acts like a sniper with incredibly long range - it even has a zoom function when aiming. Its focus attack creates an area of damage, but I don't see it being very effective since it's a bit clunky to aim - in fact I managed to kill myself with it once. This did unlock a new costume, but it was still an embarrassing thing to happen. While fully charged time slows down for you, which was useful in solving a puzzle and can perhaps be utilised in melee combat.Thunder was also very useful further into the level where you have to face enemies with sniping spells of their own. At the end we get a cutscene where everything crumbles and the cat briefly transforms into a human to save Nobeta. It seems despite manipulating the little witch, the cat gets attached to her.
