Unit Information | Game Strategies | History |
The Flaming Arrow is the Korean unique Artillery Weapon of the Classical Age that replaces the standard Catapult.
Overview[]
Compared to the Catapult, the Flaming Arrow has an attack recharge of 60 frames (instead of 55), but its projectiles are much faster (projectile speed of 200 instead of 85). They do +35% damage against buildings in addition to the standard damage bonuses all Artillery Weapons have, making the Flaming Arrow a far more devastating weapon than the Catapult, and one of the best unique units in the game.
Oddly, Flaming Arrows and Heavy Flaming Arrows are missing a +100% damage modifier against Triremes, making them weaker at contributing to naval combat.
Trivia[]
- The Flaming Arrow is based on Chinese bed crossbows which were used to launch fire arrows. However, these weapons were actually used by the Chinese Song dynasty not the Koreans.
- Fire Lances, Heavy Fire Lances, Flaming Arrows, Heavy Flaming Arrows, and Flamethrowers are the only units that trigger a special burning death animation when killing enemy infantry units and civilians.
