No other monument in the United States is quite like the Veterans Memorial Walk, which opened in 2001 and honors all U.S. soldiers, past and present. A platoon of cast bronze boots is positioned as though marching. A solitary pair of boots is stationed at the foot of the POW/MIA flag, and an eternal flame burns continuously. Each year, thousands of people visit the Walk, which is free and open to the public 24 hours a day. All are welcome.
