Chuuya froze when he saw Dazai, bare arms out with ripped bandages scattered on the floor. Mori still held his scalpel, holding it dangerously close to Dazai's already injured arms.
"Ah Chuuya, please. I am curious to hear your version of the events that occurred on your recent mission."

Something soft smacked Dazai in the face. He caught the offending object on instinct, frowning down at what he realized were a pair of pajama pants. Fleece, just like Chuuya’s sheep-patterned pair, but these were much a much uglier shade of blue and covered in an endless array of fish.
Dazai made a face. He just wasn’t sure what kind of face it was. He hoped it was one of disgust, but he had an awful suspicion that it wasn’t.

Vash could feel the eyes on him from behind, could feel them examining every move he made. If he even stumbled once, they'd be on him before he could even blink. He hated it, the knowledge that other people could be worried for him, despite all the wrongs he's committed– how much destruction is caused by his mere presence.
Vash's body was shutting down, he could feel it.
He didn't deserve the luxury.

Summary
It's an accident, for once. He was actually following the Official Household Chore Schedule and doing the dishes while Chuuya was out getting groceries. But one of the plates was slipperier than he expected, and as he attempted to dry it, it fumbled just enough out of his grip to crack against the countertop, chipping a bit off the edge.
It isn’t one of Chuuya’s fancy plates. Dazai is fairly certain that Chuuya has no particular attachment to this dish at all, actually. It’s plain white and utilitarian, part of a larger set.
So Dazai can’t explain why he’s frozen in place, rooted to the floor by some welling emotion he can’t quite pinpoint.
(Alternatively: local brilliant strategist has a slight meltdown over small uncontrollable part of everyday life)

To the way that he moves, effortlessly swaying out of proximity of anyone around him, never in danger of bumping an elbow or stepping on a toe. To the way he’ll fall into a group of strangers like an old drinking buddy, but any friendly arm slung over his shoulder slides off after a moment as easily and harmlessly as sand off a tin roof. Human contact seems to put Vash on edge, seems to be something he’s unnaturally adept at avoiding – except.

“You know,” Kunikida echoed, reaching up to slide his glasses up his forehead in order to pinch the bridge of his nose, “If you know, then what the fuck?”
Dazai blinks. “This is my dog.”
“That is a fully grown man!”
Turning his head to look at where Chuuya was glaring at him from the other end of a very expensive leather leash, Dazai observed his ex-partner before turning back to his current one and blinking owlishly once again. “He’s a mutt. I don’t remember what breed he is.”
“He’s a mafia executive!”
“Ah, a rare breed indeed,” Dazai acknowledges, nodding. An angry sound comes from Chuuya, which the brunet thoroughly ignores, only tugging a little at the leash as punishment. It makes Chuuya jerk forwards slightly, catching himself on mittened hands. It was bad enough that Dazai made him come to this damn thing, but were the ears and mittens necessary? Or the muzzle for that matter? The leash? He grunts again, continuing to glare at the side of Dazai’s head.Series
