Why this petition matters
Akin to the burning of the Alexandria Library, millions of treasured documents were quietly disposed of in the passing of the night
Myspace popularity has dwindled over the years but was kept alive by its remaining loyal users. Had it not been for those users, Myspace may not exist today. How do they show their appreciation of those life giving page hits? They pull the plug. The users that kept it alive long enough for it to rebuild itself were dishonored by having a decade’s worth of precious memories (i.e. conversations with deceased loved ones and old friends, blog entries of noteworthy life experiences, and home videos) abruptly eliminated, without warning and without a way to re-access them.
Some may argue that there was warning, (they did say they were going to redesign their site to a more user friendly experience) , however failed to warn us of what would be eliminated and when.
What we do ask for is a window of opportunity to have access to the classic site in order to retrieve irreplaceable memories.
