ANNOUNCING THE MYSPACE MUSIC DRAGON HOARD, a 450,000 song collection of mp3s from 2008-2010 on MySpace, gathered before they were all "deleted" by mistake. archive.org/details/myspac includes a link to a special custom search and play mechanism that lets you search and play songs.

Sort of! Acquired by News Corp in 2005 for $580M. In 2011, major layoffs preceded a sale to an ad targeting firm for $35M, 6% of the sale price. More layoffs, then sold to Time Inc in 2016 for an undisclosed sum, and then Time Inc was sold to Meredith Corp the following year.

I used to make a lot of music. Went back a few years ago and the tracks are there... but the files won’t play. The Lost tapes.

The metadata may be there, but the actual audio files are gone.
