A tiny anti-monarchy protest took place in Shinjuku today to coincide with members of the Japanese imperial family attending King Charles III's coronation. A huge number of police walled-off the protesters from non-protesters.
A video made *34 years ago* by Kita Koji, a former member of the group Four Leaves, warning about sexual abuse in Johnny & Associates, the company set up by Johnny Kitagawa. He was ignored. H/t Kashida-san.

The @nytimes rips off my @newrepublic story on US military prostitution in South Korea - "Welcome to the Monkey House" - six years later. So typical of this liberal rag, which spiked my recent piece critical of US backing for dictator Chun. The new Number 1 Shimbun is out! Abe and Japan's pressured broadcasters ; Johnny Kitagawa media omerta; unsafe convictions; G7 environment ministers' meeting; Memoirs of a Mask Maker; Monzurul Huq on his role in Bangladesh war of independence and more. https://fccj.or.jp/number-1-shimbun.html…
Bunshun reminding readers that it spent years covering claims of abuse by Johnny Kitagawa and (understandably) patting itself on the back. "Now, the heads of TV stations are being asked at their press conferences why they did not report the news before"
