Yeah, non-fatal is okay. Fatal isn't (unless it's the game Dig Dug, but even then, try to keep the gore at a minimum, if any at all).

Pop and "ow!" is a fair preference! It's cute and funny.

I agree with your sentiment. I don't mind reading stories with fatal popping in them, but they make me feel weird when I do read them. It's like the characters just get away with casual murder. I write inflation stories, and a few of them do have popping in them, but I specifically created a world where poppings don't lead to a permanent end.

Little word of advice, Daryl: learn your limits.
