We have to get into our local city hall, and use eminent domain to nationalize cheap motels, vacant lots, & empty buildings and turn them into housing for the homeless and working people in general.
Public housing but they shouldn't "removed" either. It should be voluntary on their part but I'm 100% pro giving them housing
idk if removed is what I would say but say for example if tents on the sidewalk were posing problems for ppl in wheelchairs being able to access the sidewalk to safely traverse, relocation of some kind maybe be necessary. While pubkic housing should be offered, if someone 1/2

You've always known the answer to be, at a minimum, some place for people to live that isn't exposure to elements and wanton predation.
Offer clean and sustainable housing as an option. No red tape, no strings attached + have a volunteer system to help people who are having a hard time keeping their home clean. Rehabilitation and therapy center on-site; free & OPTIONAL.

Do you know why many homeless aren't in public housing right now? Drugs. They willingly forgo housing because it would require them to stay clean.

First offense halfway home. Help them get back on their feet and a role in society.
After that psuedo prison where we put them to work on public works programs that pay for taking care of them.
Public housing with jobs available for the people that wants to be better with more opportunities for all. No racism, no discrimination just human people coexisting.
The biggest issue with all this is drug use, public housing generally forbids it. Hence, those addicted would rather live on the street. Until public housing is accompanied by addiction counseling and tolerance, this issue will never be solved.

There's no affordable housing for them we don't have rooming houses anymore we thought they could set up the large military canvas tents for them on pallets I believe these can even be heated at least they're out of the elements then

People that don't want to be on the streets should be assisted in getting housing/rehab/whatever they need. The few people who choose to be on the street should be left alone so long as they don't hurt anyone (and no, thinking it makes your neighborhood look bad is not harm)
For those who say the government can't afford public housing, the solution is simple: give the military spending some weight loss.
