I guess that's it -- my 3rd channel is gone for good because I was found to be impersonating myself. It really feels great to have had all the facts reviewed so "carefully" and to have been treated so fairly by Google/Youtube....
And a video I had posted on it just the other day: https://youtube.com/watch?v=b0SJLSqyHrY…
It was a little snipped of one of my main channel videos (posted before I finished the main channel video)
Is the third channel under the same Google email/account as your other two? If so then that seems like a fairly obvious proof of the same person owning all 3 channels.
Now that this is getting more visibility they’ll magically find that “oh, our careful review was wrong and actually, we will reinstate the channel.”
Then they’ll change nothing and it’ll keep happening to other people ad infinitum.
The worst part is the lies. “Careful” my ass.
I know this has happened plenty of times to other creators -- their channel mysteriously and without warning is restored. No apologies, no contact about it, no nothing.
"There's not more we can do on our end"
I still can't fully process this. What mechanism are they basing that decision from that with all the evidence provided and proof you are not impersonating yourself still clearly rings to them that the account was actively an imposter?
Indeed! I've been through a bunch of chat conversations on every avenue I can think of -- and everything leads to the same answer. I have a video I'll put out tomorrow talking more about this, showing the chats and emails.
I've had 3 channels for a long time. My 3rd channel was used mainly for random stuff, like non retro content or unlisted videos I was sharing to specific people like supporters or forums.
I am glad this is finally resolved. With that said, it is unfortunate it took a lot of angry people on Twitter to make it happen. I feels that when one is accepted into the YouTube partner program, there is at least some way to try to get resolution besides community outrage.
a.i / machine learning / bot making decisions based on sound logic and reasoning again… algorithm leaves a lot to be desired. Cmon YouTube, quit brickwalling creators hardwork.
I’m flabbergasted by this. I have my own issues with YouTube. They DELETED my videos and my first channel for the terrible crime of sharing episodes of a show you can now stream for free on like Freevee or something.
get a Vimeo account and be done with it..
the definition of insanity is to do the same thing three or more times and expect a different outcome ;-)
you surely need no more proof of how insane and toxic that company is, not just their video business unit, the entire parent..
please call this out if you can. YouTube closed a tech channel's side channel for "impersonating" himself after they "carefully reviewed" the situation. YouTube needs to fix their systems and have actual human eyes on these decisions.
A solution almost nobody would complain about: in the event they decide a channel is impersonating someone then that channel simply has it's ownership changed to the person they are allegedly impersonating.
YouTube really are exceedingly crap tbh.
Full of double standards and bizarre decisions.
They've created near monopolistic monster which they can't control.
If it's easy enough - the big channels should start dual running on another platform and encourage people to view on there.
I think YT should compensate you when they make errors like this. There are no consequences when they screw up, so they don't have any incentive to do a good job.
