Gigablast.com has been erased

for 20+ years, gigablast was a unique search engine of its kind, not only due to the fact that it was open source, but also because of its huge index and its impartiality in the results it offered, as well as giving the user complete privacy and protection of their data, which is quite a thing. Difficult to see in current search engines, what (((they))) do is end privacy and use it to track user data in exchange for selling advertising.

It's a sad day, even it's directory doesn't work if we go to the Internet Archive.

rest in peace gigablast, and see you later for eternity.

I always appreciated gigablast, a fine search engine. Sad to see it go.

Indeed, private.sh seems not to be working anymore, too.

I came to this forum to ask about it. This is sad.

Truly awful news that. Any similar search engines?

Sadly, not that I'm aware of. Only Brave search and Mojeek left that is non-google/bing.

there is any information about what happened or if is a technical thing? the search engines dies just like that?.

this is a great loss, RIP.

What bothers me the most is how his death went so unnoticed, I knew it wasn't very well known but I didn't expect it to be like that either until I investigate to see if there was a problem. The war against the monopoly is really lost.
