Whenever it is mentioned in the media or by any critic, it is called the Titanic Nazi propaganda movie, with a fictitious German officer put in the story to be the hero of the day (according to Wikipedia)... The Americans and British have never ever done anything like that. The classic movie "The Great Escape" was pretty much a documentary, there really was an all American hero who rode a motorbike around Germany trying to escape the Nazis. Steve McQueen played this real life character.
James Cameron's Titanic was not propaganda against ultra rich businessmen who only cared for cash and were clueless about everything else.
General Custer, the US Calvalry vs the dirty stinking Native American Indians. Those old movies weren't propaganda...
I'm being a bit sarcastic. Movies are very rarely done for entertainment only. They are often pure propaganda showing one side of a story or one viewpoint and painting a certain picture of events (especially old war movies).
By the the way the movie in this vid is 1953's 20th Century Fox 'Titanic'. Thought I better mention that in case anyone thought that this vid used the actual "German Nazi propaganda" Titanic footage.
J Cameron was heavily influenced by both movies if you ask me (as well as 'A Night To Remember' but that goes without saying)...

In 1939, Joseph Goebbels commissioned the film Jud Süß and personally supervised its production. Although the film was based on Lion Feuchtwanger’s 1925 novel of the same name. The plot is based on the true story of Joseph Süß Oppenheimer (1692-1738), the Duke of Wurttemberg’s Jewish financial adviser. Oppenheimer made a career at court, but after his patron’s death he was defamed and eventually executed. The film was directed by Veit Harlan (1899-1964), who had previously directed several films praising the National Socialist regime. The leading roles were played by well-known German actors such as Heinrich George, Ferdinand Marian, and Kristina Söderbaum, Harlan’s wife. Jud Süß premiered in September 1940 at the Venice Film Festival, where it was received enthusiastically; it opened in German theaters on September 24. It was declared mandatory viewing for all members of the SS and the police.

An excellent read that disperses any doubt of Hitler’s feeling towards the Great Father.

The German American Bund (German: Amerikadeutscher Bund), also known as the German American Federation was a pro-National Socialist organization established in the United States March 29, 1936. Often derided in the press as America’s Brownshirts, the organization was the successor of an earlier German American group, Friends of New Germany, which had a large number of non-American German nationals as its members. The Bund had strong ideological ties to the New Germany however there has never been any evidence National Socialist Germany ever financed the group. According to the Justice Department the Bund had its largest membership of 8500 in 1937-1938. Around this same time undercover reporters from the Chicago Daily Times who infiltrated the Bund for six months estimated their membership to be 20,000. The German American Bund slogan was "Free America!"

The Bund held their meetings mostly in German, however, being of German descent was not a requirement for membership. Forty percent of the membership was of non-German ancestry, most of these being Irish. All members of the Bund had to be American citizens.
