Let's remember & appreciate how people on southern part of Sulawesi peninsula created two local scripts (Ukiq Lontaraq & Jangang-Jangang) in the 14th century, adopted Arabic (Sérang), invented one (Bilang-Bilang) & inspired 3 other local scripts (Jontal Sumbawa, Bima, Lota Ende).

There was a long period when literary & scientific works written in Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic & Malay were translated to Makassarese and Bugis languages with the use of these traditional scripts. There's even a Bugis version of Panji story from Java. twitter.com/hey_louie/stat

In Agen, in the Lot-et-Garonne, the street signs in Gascon are bigger than the ones in French. And if they're vandalized, it's always the French one, never the Gascon sign.
