Teen charged with attempted rape at Hastings school

A resident of a school for disturbed youth in Hastings-on-Hudson was arrested Wednesday for attempted rape.

Jaheim Ikeem Murray, 17, was charged with two counts of attempted rape and sexual abuse for an attack he allegedly perpetrated on a female in the Graham School's health center at 1 S. Broadway around 2 p.m.

Responding officers found a female with injuries; she was taken to the Westchester Medical Center by the Hastings Volunteer Ambulance Corp., according to police, who released information about the arrest on Thursday.

Police arrested Murray at the scene. Murray was arraigned with a bail of $10,000 and he was taken to the Westchester County Jail.

Police would not release more details of the attack citing the nature of the crime.

No one could be reached at the school Thursday for comment.

The Graham School is the Graham Windham social service agency's residential education and treatment center serving over 300 at-risk day and resident students from the New York City metropolitan area.
