Genius Annotation

This song juxtaposes “leaving” as in leaving a partner with “leaving” as in dying.

In the first part of the song a character is broken up with, or is the one doing the breaking up. Either way, it’s messy on them, and some of the lines clearly hint at a breakup.

It seems the narrator had some depression before the loss of their significant other and the loss drives him to the edge which leads into the next part of the song, which seems to very cryptically describe a suicide.
