Samsung made the phone the way they wanted and there is a reason they released it the same day as the s6+ edge. Want something different make it yourself or wait for something to come out that will suit your personal needs better. Every person has their fix and it's so easy to focus on the negative but look at what is available. A very advanced piece of technology that was not released (officially) before yesterday. Like I said it all depends on the user and their intentions. For me the Note 5 is a perfect fit. How do you go wrong with a 16mp rear 5mp front camera, 64gb internal and exynos octa core processor come on be thankful for something

128 GB + MicroSD = Many Hours of 4K Video.
If your IntMem is Full, you can move to MicroSD and then to Computer, to avoid struggling with MTP.

If you move to MicroSD, then you can enjoy mass storage.

Not to say later down the road they wouldn't decide to release an upgraded version but the majority of users aren't going to need 128gb internal storage+micro sd cards because they have other means to store files. You could always use your old note (if you still have it) as a storage device or just transfer files when you are getting full to your computer or an external hard drive. Now days there's so many ways to store things via clouds and such, storage should not be an issue even if it is internal. After all, it's a phone not a pc/laptop.

Complaining on XDA doesn't do anything, that I agree.

So, EVERYONE SHOULD COMPLAIN ON SAMSUNG'S FACEBOOK PAGE.

But, it is an integral part of the SUPPLY & DEMAND component of capitalism.

Here's the thing, STORAGE CAPACITY ALWAYS HAS TO INCREASE.

Most of us do not want to erase our old memories or store them in the cloud (where it costs money, you are dependent on a reliable/fast data connection, and resolution is downsampled). Therefore, STORAGE NEEDS ARE ALWAYS INCREASING.

Therefore, STORAGE CAPACITY ALWAYS HAS TO INCREASE.

This is not a problem if we can buy a 64GB Note 5 and upgrade the storage with a 128gb micro SD card.

I currently have 32gb in my phone with a 64GB card that is a few GB shy of being full. I was really excited to get a Note 5. But now, even with the 64GB Note 5, it's not enough to transfer all my old memories to my new phone.

That is absolutely correct.
And Phones must have more and more features, so they need faster and bigger space storages. + Expandable Storage.

The most Stylish and Thin Phone will be useless, if your battery is at 2 % and you're lost in a dark wood. They can make a Phone 4 mm thin with 1200 mAh battery. But if you want to show off with a phone, features (like the S4 Gimmicks) will be much more impressive than a 2mm thin phone. (The Headphone Jack is 3.5 mm, so there's actually a limit.)

The S6 is useless, if a plane ditches in the Water and you want to take a 4K video from inside to earn millions of euros/dollars/pounds/whatever. The S5 has no OIS, but is waterproof.

A stylish S6 won't be useful for Phone calls in rain.
The most stylish phone's warrenty will be lost after that, if it survives.

Now, i hope the Note 6 to be a real NOTE. Do you also hope so? Post here :cowboy:

I know you're trying to get people to post on your thread, but you should doing this on their FACEBOOK PAGE. Samsung doesn't read these forums so it's not going to change anything.

Yes. It is very unlikely, that Samsung reads anything here, but many other People will do.

And there is also a disappointment thread for the S6 and for the Note 4. So why not for the Note 5?

Here is the confirmation, that Project Zero is a no way.

NO IT DOESN'T. And putting it in all caps doesn't make it more true.

I am fine with using cloud for bulk storage.

So maybe you should stick with stating YOUR preferences/needs instead of acting like you speak for the whole world, or even the majority for that matter.

Samsung has over 20 other models of phones without removable battery or upgradable storage. Why do you care if we want the Note to continue its LONG HELD TRADITION OF REMOVABLE BATTERY & UPGRADABLE STORAGE?

This is definitely exaggerated to a good bit. For one thing I would consider built in system wide theming with slightly more abilities to change some of the pre installed apps out of box.....More customizable.

And while yes I fully agree that I miss the removable battery and SD slot...and the IR blaster. Those are the ONLY step backs.
Everything else has advanced.
And the SD slot somewhat has a reason it was taken out and there is hope of it being brought back in the future.
The removal of the IR blaster was just pointless. At least the battery is related to design....I can't see any reason at all the ir blaster was removed.
The Exynos is a MUCH MUCH MUCH better SoC and brings much better audio for one good point.

And you can thank millions to billions....to just about every comment and video posted on the entire internet. Here, GSm, ferbes, bgr......and everywhere. Whether it's a troll, fanboy, hater, reviewer, moderator, you name it. 99% of the internet was day after day, year after year constantly bashing Samsung for using cheap, ugly, flimsy, weak, toy like materials and designs. And that supposedly Touchwiz was so slow and lags so bad and all those features are just gimmicks that make the phone lag really bad and nobody uses.

Yes, that's also a valid point, but my Note 3 does not lag at all.
And feature range is much more important than design, in my opinion.
@hella356's S7-E idea (or Note 5-E) could also be Samsungs future. The -E models have all features, while the non-E models have a good design and almost no features.

In my honest opinion about micro sd card everyone is upset about losing due to this version, it probably costs samsung a pretty penny to include the slot with everything else they had in mind for this design. It only costs them probably $10 to add larger internal memory and make more profit? Regardless if things are missing, people will still buy the hell out of these devices
Pre release rumors were there was going to be a 128gb version and available in gold, both of those options were justified as being dropped upon the reveal at the Samsung event but why would they drop them and there were rumors about them? They probably want to wait to release the better versions later and see how sells do with the current ones? Just a guess probably wrong

No bad idea, but what, if you just want to take with one device, which has everything you need? (Also the Sensors, IR Reciever and Blaster, Features, Everything + 128 GB IntMem + MicroSD + MHL + USB-OTG) - a real, trusty PDA.

But such a device will not exist, if Samsung goes the Zero way.

Having all that would most likely exceed their budget and not everyone is going to want to spend $1500 on a phone that will be obsolete in a year with a new version.

Samsung hasn't failed. They have made big changes and started flexing their muscles to the market showing they can make high quality products. They removed the bloated features that didn't really work quite the way they should. What they need to start doing is start setting new standards instead of following the heard. Lowest model should be 64gb +128gb. Making the other phones look like a joke. They do need to start focus on details of their actual devices and start focusing on always improving their software while it's out. Not just release it and wait for android to come out with a update.

If they constantly hold back release for a new android version they will never release the device. How can you upgrade your software with android 6.0 marshmallow when it isn't released? [emoji38]

I'm talking about their own updates. For them to keep on improving on the 5.1.1. Fix ram issues, improve battery, ect. Kind of like what developers do when then we update roms.

Stop whining, and get another phone. END OF STORY !! Who cares about your rant about "crappy" specs, we are proactive here in XDA and maintain a positive attitude rather than moan about a regretful purchase.
    6
Come on,............. why ***** and moan when we all knew what 90+% of "features" and specs the device would be released with before purchase !! It is not "lucky dip", so if you bought the device without doing your homework or with full knowledge of imitations >> live with it or change it (software side) - if possible. That's what XDA-Developers is about :)

Let's contribute positively instead of breeding negativity >> or move on to a better suited device ;)

Because, I certainly will build and release a custom kernel when source is released and of course, time permitting !! :)
