For several years now we here at THP have been screaming from the rooftops that if you aren’t paying attention to Kinetixx, then you should be. You see, they aren’t just another shaft brand, in fact there isn’t another manufacturer like them in the entire segment.
If you happen to not be that familiar, don’t worry, THP has you covered. We have taken much closer looks at the brand from just how they function and develop shafts from the ground up (including making their composite material) here [ Getting to Know Paderson Kinetixx – The Hackers Paradise ] as well as their commitment to technology and the environment here [ Kinetixx Technology and the Environment – The Hackers Paradise ].
Since that time, a lot has changed with Kinetixx. First, there was a re-branding of sorts from Paderson Kinetixx, and since then there has been a heavy focus on streamlining the aesthetics with a plethora of options that should appeal to more golfers as well as rounding out their lineup. It is that last part that brings us here today, as after over twelve months of R&D, two new shafts are making their debut, and Kinetixx is aiming directly at some of the most popular shafts on the market.

Kinetixx HYPERSONIC and MACH Driver Shafts
While the details are just now coming to light on these shafts, we were able to get a bit of background to share with everyone. Even better than that though, they are both officially in hand for testing which has already begun at the time of this article going up.
At their root, these two shafts are taking dead aim at two of the most popular and widely played driver shafts in the world. This is, in my opinion, perhaps more exciting that even the designs themselves because in the past Kinetixx has always been about letting the technology speak for itself and in my opinion haven’t marketed it as much as they should have. But this direction gives them the prime opportunity to flex their muscles to the entire industry and show off their technology, materials, and proprietary applications. After all, it is often lost that the brand possesses an astonishing amount of Intellectual Property (IP) that would most likely break minds if they truly knew to what extent, and I’m not talking only in golf shafts.

The two new shafts are targeting the ultralight (HYPERSONIC) and light-weight (MACH) realm with four flexes each (D10 to D40). As far as actual weights, the HYPERSONIC will range from 50-61g uncut while the MACH is 54-65g. Now, I know upon reading that some of you have your very best internet golfer internal monologue stating that these will then be too lightweight for them. To that thought, I would present to you the fact that one Kyle Berkshire is currently using a HYPERSONIC D40 (61g), with which in indoor testing he has set not only a personal best but an unofficial world record. What is more eye opening? According to their testing, the shafts are even more beneficial to average golfers in terms of speed than someone with a long drive swing.
As mentioned earlier, the Kinetixx HYPERSONIC is considered by the company a high kick-point ultralight shaft. The design is a utility patented product technology which is engineered and manufactured purely for speed, but with heavy focus on down range performance for all golfers including us mere mortals. In terms of materials, the HYPERSONIC uses 40T, 30T and Amorphous materials. Like the Velocity, it is Vacuum Cured to minimize the amount of resin which means optimizing the elastic strength and dynamic recovery of the Amorphous (Nano-Carbon) materials.

Unlike the Velocity, the torque rating here stays in the 3.3-3.7 degree range depending on the flex. If you are curious about the EI profile on the HYPERSONIC, it is listed as Firm+, Medium+, Medium (butt, mid, tip) according to Kinetixx and is a slightly counter-balanced design (54% in D40). For ball flight, early information states it to be mid launch with low-mid spin. Oh, and though the unofficial ball speed record is cool, the HYPERSONIC already has two official world records.

On the other side of the release is the Kinetixx MACH. Now, do not for one millisecond think about this as a tag along release, although the HYPERSONIC has some serious positive momentum, it is the MACH which Kinetixx is calling “incomparable” and predicting the potential for some serious Tour play. Though the MACH is considered lightweight, this one is aimed directly at the crown when it comes to overall play, not only does Kinetixx believe they have answered the call, they believe the MACH surpasses it. The shaft is the only geometrically spineless lightweight shaft in all of golf, and that concentricity means more efficiency.

Internally, the MACH utilizes 30T, 40T, 3K Fiber, and Black Kevlar (all fiber manufactured by Kinetixx) to create a mid kick-point shaft with torque ratings that range from 3.8 to 3.3 degrees depending on the flex designation. For those who like to nerd out as much as I do, the EI profile has it listed as a Firm, Mid+, Firm design that is slightlycounter-balanced (54% in D40). Based on early information, it classifies as a low-mid launch shaft as well as a low spin profile.

The Details
The Kinetixx HYPERSONIC and MACH shafts are available now through the company’s website as well as cooperating fitting centers around the globe, not to mention, both shafts are listed on the Callaway site for upcharge driver builds. While the company undoubtedly leads when it comes to materials, designs, and maybe even patents, with both new shafts they’re going to continue to be one of the more accessible options with a $329.99 price point. As you can see from the pictures in the article, we already have the new designs in hand and have been testing them, so be sure to stay tuned for full reviews on each shaft coming soon!
Kinetixx was really helpful when i called them to buy a FW shaft. It might be worth giving them a call and talking about what you are looking for.
I am about 2+ hours from TXG and have to pay to test so not the best solution unfortunately. Thanks for asking.
I bet @Jman or I could help. Their website has a ton of tech info as well. Another option is call them up, tell them you are a THPer, they can dial you in.
Which one is closest to the HZRDUS Silver 50g Stiff profile? Love that shaft, but am definitely curious about these. Thanks in advance.
You could go a lot of ways here, silver is mid across the board with a bit of torque which allows a nice feel and kick. I’m going to defer to @Jman but i think Hypersonic could be a very solid and fun comparison. It will be a bit firmer in the hands, but really follow a feel you should like.
After a long winter I’ll have to see how the swing held out once we start 2023 in hopefully a month. I have another shaft (Ventus Blue TR 5S) that I purchased second hand over the winter so we’ll see how it works vs. the Accra. That will give me a good comparison of the different shaft results before I do research. Plus there will be more feedback on the forum to see for comparison… thanks.
I would definitely lean Hypersonic out of these two, but like you mentioned it’s going to be more firm under the hands for sure.
Always!
And as for calling them, they are INCREDIBLE at getting a golfer sorted by answering questions and REALLY narrowing down a fit.
I may have to give them a shout, 0% chance anyone up here will have them to try. I asked the local shop if they could get them in their Paradym fitting cart. Not happing, however they did get the Ventus TR blue 6s which I thought paired very well with the heads. @Jman @JB which one would compare the closest?
MACH is the shaft that you would look towards there.
I was looking for a Ventus….but if there’s a THP approved shaft builder….
Interesting foot note is how much one of the pros from Dormie just loved it. Pretty sure ordered one on the spot after hitting mine.
What weight did you end up going with ? If lighter what did you see as opposed to a heavier shaft ? This is an interesting topic to me as regards going lighter in a driver shaft.
fwiw I tend to play shafts in the mid-to-upper 60g range, when I swung the hypersonic I did not notice that is was lighter
57 grams which feels great.
Thanks that is what I was hoping to hear.
Stable for me and I know @xThor and @Scooby45 have both tested mine and hit it well
I was very surprised with how stable and smooth it felt, especially at a little lighter weight than I am used to. Seemed a bit effortless for the great result I saw.
It was a great experience
Info will be changing pretty soon. We have some cool stuff coming with that.
Well thats exciting. These new shafts have my attention
Very much, based on what you played last year
oohhhhh that sounds really fun
Do you have this shaft in both your Paradym and AeroJet? Standard length or short build?
Just Paradym X which is my standard.
If Berkshire can swing it, mortals can too. ?
