It is a slippery slope.

aaronwt, 19 hours agoOr you pay for multiple years. With my One drive I get 1TB ... more"Or you pay for multiple years. With my One drive I get 1TB of cloud storage as part of Office 365. And I typically buy three or four years of Office 365 at a time. When I can get it for under $50 a year. The last time it cost me $48 a year. And I'm currently still good through late 2025. Which worked out to only $4 a month. Less than the cost of a cup of coffee each month."
yes I know that I can pay for multiple apps, but the point is that the S10 offered SD card slot and you have the freedom to use it for many years without paying.
One drive is good.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2023defective 512 GB MicroSD = 0 GB.I have never had a microSD card fail. Cloud storage is straight up dumb, I'm not paying 140$/year for enough google drive storage, and 80$/month on top of that to access it, and even then only in places with cell service. I could buy a 1TB microSD card that would last for years, for less than a 5th of what it would cost for cloud storage and a cell plan to access it in my use case. Not to mention, as others have pointed out, you can't record video onto cloud storage, not at any sort of quality. I really don't understand people arguing why we shouldn't have microSD card slots, it's a super cheap way to store tons of media without trusting your data to a corporation or depending on cell signal to access your data. It's just a non-existent argument in my opinion. Why *not*? What could you possibly lose by having a microSD card slot? Nevermind the millions of people that would benefit it from it. It's not wonder I'm not giving up my V60. I just frankly am not giving money to a company that takes away useful features purely for profit. In no world could Samsung have not fit a MicroSD card slot in the S23 Ultra. If someone thinks it's a good thing they removed it, clearly their advertising has brainwashed them.

The cheapest 256GB version already costs as much as the 256GB of the S22 Ultra when it was launched. So despite the price hike, after one month the price already is down by quite some euro. Good news for everybody I think. The 1TB is almost 250 euro down.

I've had S23 Ultra since launch and it's spectacular in every way, especially battery. For my typical use and with enabled battery protection which locks charging to 85% and I could go with it for 2 full days.
Only thing I don't understand is Samsung's constant claims about charge speeds which are just total BS. 45W my rear. I have a 65W PD GAN charger that should be more than capable of pushing those 45W, yet I've never seen it cross 30W (I'm using a cable that shows the charge rate). It's still relatively fast and charges to 85% in around 30 minutes, but still, don't claim you offer something when you clearly don't. And this is not a new thing with Samsung. I wonder how no one has sued them over it yet...

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2023Cloud storage is much slower than MicroSD. Can you record ... moreWhy would you want to? Or even need to? You record the video to local storage. Then, overnight, it gets uploaded to the cloud. Or whenever you are on WiFi. At least this is how it works with all my files uploaded to One Drive, Google Drive, and the Amazon drive.

you have to suffer, 10 Mar 2023why use 2k hd instead of 480p? it would save a lot more storageYes. That makes just as much sense. For me, I've been using UHD TVs for eight years now. So I want my videos to always be in at least 4K. If the 8K video recording could be done in 60fps, I would be recording all my videos in 8K. Just to future proof them for when I start buying 8K TVs.
