Even though the Cataclysm is a distant past, most of the citizens of the broken shards of Arrat are still nervously holding their breath, awaiting another conflict between the fallen Renegades and the Knights of the Council. Obsessed with winning this final confrontation, Crowley Darkmind is desperately looking for a way to attract as many powerful allies as possible. Upon learning of the legend of the “Cradle of Chaos”, a place where the citizens of Arrat are imprisoned by Chaos, Crowley sets out in search of the key that would unlock the portal to this lost shard. Luck smiles upon him as he discovers that the key is actually a book in the Council Order’s Library Crowley pursues his goal, and secretly invades the library. Upon entering the library he encounters the Librarian, the guardian of this great place. The Librarian however is too weak to fight back, being weakened by years of demonic attacks on the Valley of Treasures. Pleased with his luck, Crowley steals the book – the necessary Key! Using the mirror of the Renegades, Crowley opens the Portal to the Cradle of Chaos, and starts to negotiate with the citizens within. While their souls are longing to be free, longing to leave the prison that has kept them locked up for so many years, they are also filled with rage and resentment for the shards of Arrat that were spared the touch of Chaos. Arrat that disowned them, betrayed them and closed them behind the Portal is obliged to regret what was done. None of the shards of Arrat may survive the scourge that will be unleashed upon them. And the Chaos will welcome it all, and tear them into pieces.
How to play[]
The Cradle of Chaos mode is comprised of several Regions, each of which consists of Levels and Missions. To complete them, you will need a large number of upgraded Hero squads. You don't have to be in a Clan; this mode is available to every player who has reached level 80.
The Levels consist of 5 Missions, and you cannot use the same Heroes twice. This means that it will take 25 strong Heroes to complete one level.
You will receive special keys daily to unlock the Levels. Keys are added once a day. You cannot buy more, so all players are on equal footing, limited by the number of available attempts.
Try out different Hero combinations to achieve the best results! Keep in mind the Effects of each Region to form the most powerful squads and continue winning in the Cradle of Chaos!
Regions differ in terms of rewards, Mission difficulty and the set of opponents. They also have their own permanent Effects. These Effects apply to all Levels of the Region. They can either strengthen or weaken a player's Heroes. Knowing the Effects will help you complete the Missions: if one of your Squads is unable to overcome the enemy forces, try the Heroes that have a bonus in that Region. Using unusual team lineups to win is also a lot of fun!
This mode has a Ranking system. You can compare your progress in the Cradle of Chaos with that of other players. Players receive ranking points for completing Levels and Missions. They are displayed on the Cradle of Chaos Seasonal Leaderboard as well as on the Leaderboard of the Region the player is in.
This mode contains an important new feature: the turn counter. The fewer turns you take to complete a Mission, the more extra ranking points you'll get!
If players have an equal number of points on the Leaderboard, the player who reached this value first will place higher. If players have the same ranking and reached it at the same time, then the player who has the highest combined strength of all Heroes on their account will place higher.
This mode has a Seasons system. Each Season has a duration of 10 days, after which there is a break of 4 days, and the mode starts again.
When the Cradle of Chaos first appears, players will have access to 2 Seasons with 3 Regions, each of which has its own Effects.
What are the rewards for?[]
In the new Cradle of Chaos mode, rewards are given for the successful completion of each Level as well as for placing on the mode's Leaderboard at the end of the Season.
Regions[]
Warped Valley[]
Mirrors distort everything… Looking at them, it seems that you see your own reflection. However, this is only an illusion. Reflection is an alternate reality.
Welcome to the Cradle of Chaos! Warped Valley – first Region of the Cradle of Chaos.
Warped Valley is an alternative version of the Valley of Treasures. You will meet Goblins, Kobolds, and random sets of different factions as opponents. To pass this Region you need 5 strong squads of Heroes. As we said the game mode announcement, some Heroes may be strengthened or weakened depending on the Region.
The following rules apply for the Warped Valley Region:
- Barbarians are weakened.
- Wild Elves, Dwarves and Kobolds are strengthened.
- During the first season Orks will be also strengthened.
In future seasons of the buffs and debuffs of the game mode may be changed.
The key opens the portal to the Cradle of Chaos. Prepare your Heroes to the fight and remember – mirrors distort everything, don’t trust it!
Frost Peak[]
You break through the illusions of the Warped Valley, and then, you seem to see light ahead… But it’s not! You are faced with the grim prospect of a cold and lifeless land. All around remind you about Barbarians lands, but it was distorted by chaos. There are almost no living creatures left here: you can see ahead only endless lands of ice.
Welcome to the second Region of the Cradle of Chaos – Frost Peak!
You will meet Barbarians, Archons, Dark Elves, and some other creatures who have heavy wool that allow them not to be afraid of the cold… To pass the Frost Peak you need a squad with an almost maximum power and equipment level and few other strong squads. We strongly recommend using the most powerful Heroes to pass it.
The following rules apply for the Frost Peak Region:
- Archons and Barbarians are weakened.
- Druids and Wild Elves are strengthened.
- During the first season, Orks will also be strengthened.
In future seasons of the buffs and debuffs of the game mode may be changed.
Trough the cold and mist you continue your way to the very depth of the Region, following the beckoning light. However, is it a true light?
Heart of Chaos[]
Finally, you see the light! Illusions and piercing cold of the previous regions left behind, and the light ahead gives you a hope. But there is something wrong with it… a strange feeling inside warns of another deception. As soon as you set foot on the lands of the new Region, you discover a clear similarity to the Sanctuary – saint land of the Warriors of Light, Archons. Except that the light here is completely different... In the flickering shining you reveal the aspects of Chaos.
Welcome to the third Region of the Cradle of Chaos – Heart of Chaos!
Perhaps this is one of the most difficult regions of the Cradle of Chaos – the enemies are hard and very strong. Among them you will meet the Archons, Dragonkin, Wild and Dark Elves. You need not less than 25 Heroes with a maximum power, level, and the equipment level to defeat the enemies!
The following rules apply for the Heart of Chaos Region:
- Beastmen, Archons and Barbarians are weakened.
- Wild Elves, Druids, High Elves and Kobolds are strengthened.
- During the first season Renegades and Orks will be also strengthened.
In future seasons of the buffs and debuffs of the game mode may be changed.
Only the most powerful Heroes have a chance to pass this Region – this is a literally challenge for the most experienced adventurers! When the last enemy is defeated, what lies ahead? The shaky uncertainty of the future fills your mind with anxiety. However, before you think about the future, you need to pass all three Regions of the Cradle of Chaos.
Quagmires of Chaos[]
You’re carefully stepping forward and see a terrible scene: the Chaos has not spared any of the shards of the shattered world of the Cradle of Chaos. The already sinister Arekhon Empire has been subjected to the decay of Chaos. The kingdom of death and oblivion was not known for its friendliness, but now Darkness rules here. This world is populated by the Undead, as well as Kobolds and Goblins wandering in a cycling madness. Their minds are clouded, driven forward by a relentless hate for all living things...
Welcome to the 4th region of the Cradle of Chaos – Quagmires of Chaos.
To pass this region you need 3 strong squads. This region has its own conditions for reinforcing Heroes:
- Ra'Archne, Demons, Arekhon Undead and Orks are strengthened
- Wild Elves are weakened

Only the bravest and most fearless Heroes are able to set foot on the lands of this region. Will you dare to walk through it?
Madness of the Goblins[]
Goblins have always been close to a fragile state of madness: they mix idle joy and delight with bitter and consuming anger . Here, on the lands of the Cradle of Chaos, they have been completely surrendered to the power of madness and found their new power in it. Their thirst for the conquest of new territories burns within them. A brutal, uncompromising conquest. Even if it means converting another creature to their new faith...

These lands are bleak, but there is even something amusing in the strange rippling of the air. Or maybe it is only seeming so, attracting to you, slowly and sticky entering your mind? To pass this region you need 4 powerful squads. As strong they be – the easier it would be for you to pass the levels. The following conditions for factions apply in this region:
- Goblins, Arekhon Undead and Orks are strengthened
- Wild and Dark Elves are weakened

The shard of Goblins was filled with madness even before Chaos came. Now you have to fight not only the Goblins, but also the force that has completely changed this shard and made its creatures even more cruel...
Darkness and Chaos[]
Barely recovered from the madness that plagued the Goblin lands, you set foot in new terrain. Darkness has always gifted power to the Dark Elves. Ruthless and cruel servants of their Goddess. Can Chaos make the real Darkness even more dangerous? Complicated and dangerous rituals, complex hierarchy and unquestioning worship of the Dark are what set the Dark Elves apart from other races in the ordinary world. But here, in the realm of madness and Chaos, their power becomes incredibly powerful. The symphony of power is pain, the proof of power is blood spilled. How can one resist such power?
