I have an idea: why can't teams keep their mid-off slightly straightish as a fielder specifically designed to filter DRS calls? Can adjust the field around it. Worth a thought.

Such a great singer of so many good songs of her own but I can't help but think of her recent rendition of Ghalib's 'Bazicha-e-atfaal' here. It's like Sonu Nigam singing Jagjit Singh's 'Badi nazuk hai ye manzil'.. Soulful!

Every time this soulless ground is set to host a game I close my eyes and remember the old Ahmedabad stadium with its soothing, stale, summer-afternoons vibe. A dry but traditional Indian wicket that produced some real good games. The famous 2011 WC quarterfinal, for example.

No wonder I keep prescribing back foot play against spinners.

It's not the Indian great's problem that everyone wants to feed off his cult. But it bothers me that there is a very very limited supply of content based on his actual game, his technique and overall methods. All his interviews are wasted by media houses catering to masses, too.
