Meaning of “AJAX comments”: Comments that do not load within the page but AFTERWARDS after you scroll down. This has the following disadvantages: * Wayback Machine is unable to archive these comments. * Wait for loading. * Modern design fetishism.

I am delighted that there are like-minded people. The first time I noticed how YouTube's comments changed to the worse, it felt horrible. Now, Wayback Machine is going to miss out on tons of comments. /all_comments?v= even had comment PAGES that Wayback Machine could access!.

Actually, Archive.Today (similar to Wayback Machine) used to be able to archive AJAX-powered YouTube comments and also scroll down. Since late 2017 or early 2018, it does not work normally. It only works if one links directly to a comment (URL with &lc= [comment ID]).
