OK I found an "article" on Snopes addressing accusations of bias, and their only defense is to post a series of messages...? Emails...? Blocks of text without context accusing them of leaning both left and right. snopes.com/eye-of-the-beh

But "people on all sides attack me" is not a defense against specific allegations related to specific actions that have no mirror equivalent.

A search for Ocasio-Cortez on Snopes generates about 90 results. None of them are proper fact checks of things she's said, and most true things about her are marked "correct attribution" but provide verbose context in defense of what she said.

Call me crazy, but some supposed messages that Snopes got accusing them of being paid by Bush doesn't exactly provide a robust defense to this treatment of a very visible politician.

Sad though there were signs of its fate in some of its articles. I remember it called out one urban legend for being "sexist" because a man saved a woman from a killer in her backseat.

I noticed that when they rewrote their fact check on the EPA's new asbestos rules to pretend they'd never based it on a completely and utterly untrue fact, then accused the EPA of lying for saying they did. Pulled up Wayback Machine to pin down when the rewrite happened, nada.
