YouTube icon PewDiePie and his wife, Marzia, are becoming parents as they announce they are expecting their first child together.
PewDiePie, real name Felix Kjellberg, announced the happy baby news on Sunday, February 5. “We’re having a baby,” was the title of the announcement video shared on Sunday. It was posted to YouTube, where PewDiePie has over 111 million which makes him the second most-subscribed individual YouTube creator after MrBeast.
Having been one of the most popular YouTubers over the past decade, PewDiePie has shared important milestones with his fans along the way. Fatherhood is the next journey PewDiePie undertakes in the public eye. Let’s take a look back over his relationship with wife Marzia before two become three.
PewDiePie and Marzia start a relationship in 2011
Shortly after Felix Kjellberg started the PewDiePie channel, he started a relationship with Marzia Bisognin. Marzia had seen PewDiePie’s videos on YouTube and emailed him. The pair then struck up a friendship online and connected over Facebook. PewDiePie went to visit Marzia in Italy – her hometown is Arzignano – and she went to visit him in Sweden in late 2011. A year later, PewDiePie moved to Italy to be with her.
They would travel the world together as PewDiePie’s channel grew in popularity. On January 16, 2012, Marzia started her own channel, under the name CutiePieMarzia. She specialized in creating content about fashion and lifestyle, as well as DIY tips and tricks. On October 22, 2018, Marzia announced that she was retiring from her career as a YouTuber to focus on a new career path.
PewDiePie proposed to Marzia in April 2018. They tied the knot just over a year later, in August 2019.

On Sunday, February 5, PewDiePie shared the news that he and Marzia are becoming parents in a YouTube video. The short video, just one minute and thirty seconds, explains how they found out about Marzia’s pregnancy in November 2022. It then cuts to clips taken throughout their pregnancy journey, as well as the reactions from their family upon hearing the news. “I can’t wait to meet this kid,” PewDiePie concludes in the video.
This comes as happy news for the couple as just over a month ago, they said farewell to their beloved pug, Maya.
PewDiePie and Marzia are currently living in Japan
In May 2022, PewDiePie and his wife finally moved to Japan, a plan that had been in the works for years prior. He expressed his intentions to move to Japan in 2019. However, the outbreak of covid-19 put a stop to those plans.
PewDiePie vlogged about their move halfway across the world from obtaining Visas to difficulties bringing their pet dogs with them. But last summer, PewDiePie and Marzia made it to their dream destination.
They are expected to remain in Japan for the foreseeable future, meaning their child will be born in Japan.
