Birkeland-Eyde reactor update: I have made significant amount of dilute nitric acid using my home made $50 Birkeland-Eyde reactor in 4 days of continuous operation.
I am neutralizing the Nitric acid with NaOH to produce NaNO3 solution.
It will be boiled down later to yield
Solid NaNO3. The solid NaNO3 can be added to concentrated sulfuric acid to be made into concentrated sulfuric acid+Nitric acid mixture, and can be then used as nitrification solution for producing guncotton (Nitrocellulose).
