Not one, but two art projects are beautifying the community neighboring George Bush Intercontinental Airport in 2023. A 5-ton sculpture of President John F. Kennedy will be installed this month on John F. Kennedy Boulevard near the airport's southern entrance in East Aldine. A "rambling rose"-style labyrinth was completed last month.

Carlos Silva, chairman of the East Aldine Management District and East Aldine Arts Council, credits his Rothko Chapel Guild membership with partially inspiring both of the public artworks.
