1.27 patch details?

Since there's still no forum post regarding the patch on either the .com or .ru forums.

To anyone who's finished receiving the download: What's different? Anything fly differently? What gives?

Post what you notice here and I'll update accordingly.


New Hotfix 1.27.14.1

Machine translation from Russian forum thread

Update the client without server restart

  • Fixed crash when changing aircraft

  • Fixed hint "Press any key" in training

  • Fixed inability to select the plane, leave the queue when the link in one kind of battles and passed on to another


What the teaser video mentioned

  • Fjords map (ground attack, 60 targets)

In case of up-tiering, if you already had the plane unlocked you will still have it even if you do not meet the new tier requirement.

  • Spitfire Vb 7 -> 8

  • F4U-1d 7 -> 8

  • P-47D 8-> 9

  • P-38G 10 -> 11

  • Bf 109 G-6 14 -> 13.

  • Fw 190 D-12 14 -> 15.

  • P-51D 14 -> 13

  • F4U-1c 13 -> 12

  • He-162 18 -> 17

  • Me-163 18 -> 19

  • Hs-129 14 -> 13


Other Changes

  • Many bombers now require pylons to be unlocked to use munitions that were previously available, e.g. H6K, B5N2, Pe-2/3 series, Beaufighters, &c.

  • P-63 group expando fail in tech tree (fixed in 1.27.14.2 hotfix)

The amount of Q_Q in this thread is overwhelming.

  1. It's a patch. They fix some things. Not everything is going to be fixed at once. Get over it man, it's okay. It will come. Just give it time. Devs aren't miracle workers, okay?

  2. Not enough planes? Well don't worry the game is still in beta. They'll add more, just you wait. If you think it's not enough talk to the Japanese players. They have like... 12. TOTAL.

  3. Download time going super slow? well that's probably because at least 2000 other people are downloading the exact same thing.

If you're used to doing two things at one time, how well can you do 50 things at one time? Now imagine the server doing that, but it is capable of doing 50 things if it goes slowly. Now you understand why your download is slow. :)

Sorry if I seem like a dick but seriously it seems to me these are common sense issues that shouldn't be an issue in the first place.

Download time going super slow? well that's probably because at least 2000 other people are downloading the exact same thing.

I don't think you understand how bittorrent works.

I played a single round as my favorite nation- The Japanese... I landed a Ki49 with a wing missing (shot off while landing) and engine fire. My gunners still managed to kill two guys behind me as well. I also landed a Ki61 with a blacked wing and engine fire.

It seems that because one can stay in the planes longer and have time to bail-out, it's harder to kill certain things. A bomber with good gunners is still a major threat even if it's on fire and falling now...

Also, some planes have had their ordnance rebalanced and certain weapons require pylons whereas they didn't before (Japanese, at least).

Edit: I have discovered another benefit to the control of damaged planes... When taking enemy runways, it allows a pilot to land a fubar plane on an enemy field and then sometimes survive strafing runs until the field is captured... As long as the pilot himself isn't killed, you don't bail, or explode- you can survive wings falling off and fires.

I think the bombers should take a little more damage now that they can be controlled long after they take "deadly" damage.

Tell that to my il-2's rockets. I explode things on a regular basis.

Seriously, the bittorrent protocol they use kills my internet connection. The internet connectivity indicator in the system tray even changes to a '!'...

They use a torrent system that will max upload to match your download speed. A max upload speed will significantly affect anyone's internet connection that is unable to keep up.

They adjusted several of the planes' ranks. I play German, but have noticed people speaking of other nations' changes, too.

Bf 109 G-6 moved from rank 14 to 13.

Fw 190 D-12 moved from rank 14 to 15.

The Me 262 was always a Tier 19 plane. What isn't listed is the Me 163 was made a tier 18 when it used to be 17, and the He 162 is now 17 when it used to be 18.

I still think the Me 262 will end up being a Tier 18 at the end, so there's room for the Me 262 HG series.

I was playing with friends last night and there was a bit of mixed feelings around the new damage system. On the one hand I took out two people while gliding (dead engine) in my p40 and proceded to barely emergency land. It was fantastic. On the other hand, they really need to fix where people are getting points for kills. Now if the guy lands the plane or crashes it while critical (pink) it seems you don't get ANY points for a kill and at the very most a kill assist. If I force someone to emergency land, that is a kill and it should be counted as such.

If You force someone to land its not a kill its only taking plane out of combat, the same as running out of fuel (even if he cant use that plane anymore. But yes, I agree with You that assist system is broken now.

  • Buying mounts for bombs and rockets even if you had the bombs/rockets unlocked before 1.27 you can't use them as they now require mounts.

I just downloaded it, took forever at first but sped up after like 2 hours.....

Haven't noticed much change but I did just get in my first two matches before all the servers went down.

My journey towards the HS-129 has gotten a touch shorter. Just imagine the possibilites of adding in the B3 version with a 75mm cannon! :)

Well I played it. I find are that the damaged aircraft control is just to increase spawn time, as its almost impossible to land it after your that badly damaged. I've played the Wake Island map its alright although there's only one landing strip that tends to be contested constantly. Also its difficult to tell where the area of repair begins and ends, as I landed my plane waiting for the repair time to pop up but it never did. Overall I can't say much about the patch but I don't like it. But that could be me being resistant to change.

P-51D lowered to Tier 13. So now there's a level 13 to 20 gap in American fighters... W.T.F.

AND! They lowered the 262 and He 129 down a tier.

Nimrod and Fury brit biplanes are now both reserve planes.

They botched up the kingcobra expandable too. Lol. And they fixed the turn time in them? 30 seconds prior to 22 now? Or am I just going crazy?

But.. US has a tier 13 to 20 gap in US fighters. Seriously... what the actually hell is up with that (and yes the 51 performed horribly for a tier 14, lowering it a tier wont help much)

Pretty sure Nimrods and Furys were already reserve planes.

The gap is retarded. I was hoping for more planes in this update.

New American planes will come eventually, don't worry. I can't wait until the P-51->F-86 gap is closed by newer P-51's, Twin Mustangs, F-84's and P-80's.
