Days after principal removal, fire alarm forces Yates students to evacuate

Someone pulled a fire alarm at Jack Yates High School Monday, forcing students at the Third Ward campus to evacuate around 11:30 a.m., Houston ISD officials said. 

“Our campus fire alarm was falsely pulled by an unknown individual. No students reported being injured. We do not condone this type of behavior,” Interim Principal April Williams wrote in a message to parents. “It is always our top priority to maintain an environment where our students and staff are safe, and productive academic instruction can take place.”
