Hi Kirk,I've been wondering, do you think the community college where you teach would consider it a Title IX violation to own EJMR's DNS and enable all the discrimination that goes unmoderated on here? Their webpage seems to really focus a lot of their branding around DEI, and your department specifically is impressively and wonderfully diverse as well. Not sure what your specific interest is hosting this forum when you aren't even in the econ field... Anyways, it seems like you're needlessly taking a really big risk by neglecting to moderate the forum to standards of human decency, not to mention in addition to the risk of all the defamation lawsuits that could be filed against you for neglecting your responsibility to moderate your site and thus also enabling defamation. You do know you're responsible for managing these types of things, right? Is it that you just don't have enough help/resources to ensure it's thoroughly moderated around the clock, or do you choose to intentionally enable abusive, discriminatory, and illegal behavior? Doesn't that make you like an accomplice? I don't know, I personally really wouldn't want to take on all that risk, especially given the 3 strike law there. If you have the resources to do so, I'd really suggest improving the moderation on your site. You could probably use some of the advertising income to either hire more hands, or perhaps give yourself a little challenge project improving the moderation here by combining NLP with deep learning techniques to adjust for all the silly spellers. If these options don't seem possible, I'd strongly suggest shutting down the site altogether. What you attempted to create was well-intended, but with what it's become and without proper moderation, it'll never be what you had hoped it to be, and it's not worth trying to save, especially at the potential harm you'd be doing to yourself by carrying all that risk. You know you'd be made into a scapegoat for every awful thing ever said on here, right? I sincerely hope you reflect on all this and make the right decision, whichever one you can make that's in both your best interest and the best interest of every person who posts on here and every person who is posted about on here. Something I learned from my father about technology is that you can create something new and brilliant and with every best intention in your heart, but once you release it out into the world, it takes on a life of its own. It's time for you to make a decision. I'm sure you can figure out how to reach me if needed. I'd be happy to brainstorm some ideas with you for how to improve this site. Oh, and please don't delete this post too. I'm trying to communicate with you because I want you to have the opportunity to help yourself out of this mess. And if this were taken down, then I'd have to actually call you at work or discuss this with you through your work email, which I suspect isn't something you'd want. Please, I'm really trying to be considerate with a delicate situation. Govern yourself accordingly.

This isn’t about naming and shaming. It’s all of you who should be ashamed, not Kirk who is simply enabling your disgusting, childish behavior. I have his sad short lil CV printed out in front of me. I’m thinking I’ll have to call him this week. I pity him too much to just dox him on here. He seems like he deserves a chance for once, like he hasn’t been given many in life. Thus, I’m doing my best to show him mercy, but he’s certainly not making it easy.
