Missing Pakistani girls found in Lahore, ran away to meet K-pop band BTS

Two teenage girls who went missing from Karachi were found in Lahore. The girls ran away from their homes to go to South Korea to meet K-pop band BTS, Pakistan Police said.

By India Today Web Desk: Two teenage girls, who were reported missing from Karachi’s Korangi area in Pakistan last week, were found in Lahore, police said on Tuesday. The girls ran away from their homes as they wanted to go to South Korea to meet K-pop band BTS, reported CNN.

Inspired by the Korean boy band, the girls wanted to see K-pop sensation BTS and were found in Lahore while attempting to travel to South Korea to meet them.

According to a senior police superintendent of the area, Abraiz Ali Abbasi, the teenage girls are aged 13 and 14.

The police official, in a video statement, said that the police found a diary at the girls’ homes that revealed their plans to travel to South Korea to meet the BTS band, reported CNN.

“From the diary we saw mentions of train timetables and that they had been planning to run away with another friend of theirs … who we then interviewed,” Abassi said.

The police official further added that they found the girls in custody of the police in the city of Lahore where they had traveled by train.

Abbasi said arrangements for the girls to be taken back home to Karachi have been made in coordination with police in Lahore.
