What is a Spiritual Beast?
A support gear that can be assigned to a general to enhance his or her abilities
Types of Spiritual Beasts and Buffs
There are 6 types of Spiritual Beasts, each specialized for a specific troop type.
Note: The buff values shown below are for the case of being trained to Lv 10 & Gold Quality. (described later)
Thunder Scorpion – Ranged
- Ranged Troop Attack +30%
- Ranged Troop Defense +30%
- Ranged Troop HP +30%
- March Speed +30%
Bird of Hurricane – Mounted
- Mounted Troop Attack +30%
- Mounted Troop Defense +30%
- Mounted Troop HP +30%
- Double Items Drop Rate from Monsters. +15%
Lord of Lava – Ground
- Ground Troop Attack +30%
- Ground Troop Defense +30%
- Ground Troop HP +30%
- Troop Load +30%
Behemoth King – Siege
- Siege Machine Attack +30%
- Siege Machine Defense +30%
- Siege Machine HP +30%
- March Size Capacity +15%
Pegasus – Mounted, Ground
- Marching Mounted Troop Attack +45%

- Enemy Ground Troop HP (Debuff) -30%

Nine-tailed Fox – Ranged, Siege

Therefore, depending on what the general is good at, you can decide which beast to assign.

How to Activate
You need to activate it with a Pasture.
(Pastures can be built at keep level 21.)
Requires Spiritual Beast EXP to activate it.
(300,000 EXP per beast)

Requirement Pattern A) Level of Pasture
You can activate one at a time, depending on the level of the Pasture.
- Lv 6 – Thunder Scorpion
- Lv11 – Bird of Hurricane
- Lv16 – Lord of Lava
- Lv22 – Behemoth King
Requirement Pattern B) Unlocking Item
As for below, it can be activated even with Pasture Lv1, but requires an item.
- Pegasus – “Pegasus Spirit”
- Nine-tailed Fox – “Fox Mask”
How to get Pegasus Spirit
The Pegasus Spirit can be exchanged by collecting 400 items called the “Spiritual Beast Scale” during the event period.
How to get Spiritual Beast Scale
Spiritual Beast Scale can be obtained by hunting bosses or buying paid packages during the event period.
In case from bosses
In case from bosses, I have confirmed that they drop from normal bosses. (Lv1 zombies ~)
Double drop available.
For event bosses, they dropped from Lava Turtle, Cerberus, and Bayard, but not from Viking or Ymir, so they may not drop from some event bosses.
In addition, it seems that the limit is 42 pieces per day.
(Technically, you can get up to 43 if you double drop with 41)
In case of paid package
In case of paid package, you can get the “Spiritual Beast Scale” by opening the “Spiritual Beast Scale Box” inside.
( The quantity is random, either 10 / 20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 400.)
How to get Fox Mask
The Fox Mask can be exchanged by collecting 20 items called the “Food Stamp” during the event period.
How to get Food Stamp
“Food Stamp” can be obtained by using “Food Stamp Card” during the event period.
“Food Stamp Card” can be obtained by the following methods during the event period.
Achieve the “Activity” of the tavern
- 2 for a score of 50
- 3 for a score of 110
- (= maximum 5 cards per day)
Buy a paid package
1 for $4.99 Summer Festival Package
Activate procedure with items
- In the pasture, spend Spiritual Beast EXP on the spiritual beast you wish to activate.
- With the activation item obtained, press the Activate button on the beast in the pasture.
How to Assign and Release the General
To assign a beast to a general, open the general’s details screen and press the dragon symbol in the top left corner. The same procedure is used to unassign the beast.
Note that once the beast is unassigned, it will not be able to be assigned to the general for a period of one hour.
Beasts are “WEAK” if you don’t train them.
The buffs right after activation are only +1-3% each.
Example: Behemoth King Lv1 Quality Gray
- Siege Machine Attack +2%
- Siege Machine Defense +2%
- Siege Machine HP +2%
- March Size Capacity +1%
How to train
Beasts need to be cultivated in two ways
- Level Up – Use Spiritual Beast EXP to raise it.
- Smelt – Upgrade Quality using Gems, Medals, Smelt items, and Gold.
Note that the quality must be raised to “Red” beforehand in order to raise the level to 11 or higher.
In case of Level Up
In case of Smelt (Quality Up)
These can be raised in parallel and separately. Start with the easiest one to raise first.
Either way, the buffs go up 2% at a time.
(If the initial value is 1%, they go up 1% at a time.)
(If the initial value is 3%, they go up 3% at a time.)

- Lv1 Quality Ash (0) -> Attack +2%
- Lv1 Quality Green (+1) -> Attack +4%
- Lv2 Quality Ash (0) -> Attack +4%
- Lv1 Quality Blue (+2) -> Attack +6%

There are 2 main patterns, but to change the quality from “Gold” to “Red”, an Awakening Stone is required.

How to get Spiritual Beast Badge
If you collect 20 “Spiritual Beast Scales” during the event, you can exchange them for 10 “Spiritual Beast Badges”.

How to get Fox Tails
If you collect 1 “Food Stamp” during the event, you can exchange them for 5 “Fox Tails”.

Which is better, Dragon or Spiritual Beast?
You can activate a dragon if you pay 300,000 gems after making your Pasture level 26. And, dragons are also weak if you don’t train them.
If the comparison is to be made with the maximum development, dragons are better than spiritual beasts.
However, a large amount of materials, gems, refining stones, etc. would be needed to raise them. And these are better spent first on crafting and refining the general’s equipment, which will provide more buffs at an earlier stage.
So until the general’s equipment is sufficient, it’s better to refrain from training dragons and train Spiritual Beasts and assign them to the general.
* EXCEPTION – Minamoto no Yoshitsune, Martinus, El Cid, Isabella I, etc. have skills that enable their own buffs when attaching a dragon. If the spiritual beasts are not fully trained, they may be given dragons early on.

Since there is a wide variety of spiritual beasts, it would be helpful if you could verify if there are any recommended combinations when rallying in PVP, barbarians, etc.
I haven’t been able to raise spiritual beasts yet ……
(I heard that buffing and debuffing the rally host and one participant is valid.)
Each person’s buff is applied to his or her own troops, so each person should participate with a Spiritual Beast that is appropriate for his or her troop type.
One of them can be a beast with a debuff, but instead of having a debuff, they do not have a defensive or other buff. So, the effect varies depending on the enemy.
For people without the 4 dragons, it seems that the Fox is a very good substitute of the Thebes dragon. Very high archer and siege attack and debuff against cav, seems to work for many players.
Yup. I’ve counselled everyone in my alliance to use Fox on the wall. It’s great.
Do spiritual beasts work on sub city mayors?
I was also curious if their debuffs would apply to sub generals.
Mayor: It works. Buff applies to soldiers in that sub-city, debuff is valid if that sub-city is participating (Pegasus, Fox)

Second smelt, 4k gems, 40 spiritual beast badges, 2M gold

I spent 300k spiritual beast XP on the pegasus without realizing I needed the Pegasus Spirit to activate it! I think I won’t we able to get all 400 scales for the spirit! I’ve been killing so many bosses but my luck has been horrible! I only have 43 scales until now and the event ends in 5 days!! Will I get my spiritual beast XP back after the event? If the spiritual beast xp I used on the Pegasus will not get returned it will be as if Evony is a rip off! Why couldn’t they make someone activate the Pegasus BEFORE making them waste 300k spiritual beast xp! Very pissed of right now!
The developer should improve it so that we cannot use the Beast EXP without using spirit first. I think this is the worst specification.
Right. I did the same thing. It was not readily clear that no matter what, you needed 400 Scales to Activate Pegasus, and instead of advancing another Best to the next level, I used the 300,00 on Pegasus. I hit bosses none stop for days now and still only have 51 scales. They would need to have this event a few more times before I come close to 400 Scales. Just not right

I recommend Lord of Lava.
This is because attack, defense, and HP are all important for ground troops.
I also believe these are more important than the ground HP debuff that Pegasus has, since the ground troops’ primary role is to counter ranged troops.
There is a new spiritual beast now called Pegasus. There is a lot of confusion about what it takes to unlock and level it.

Unfortunately, attaching a Beast to a Duty Officer does not provide the Beast’s buffs.

I mean, it is not cheap, and Medals are somewhat slow to come by, as are Gems / Gold….
From what it shows, the improvement is not substantial versus the cost!!
I think it’s worth it. Nothing is cheap in this game. The last few percent of buffs are always more expensive than the first few. I completed the smelt for by Bird of Hurricane, and I don’t regret it. In fact, getting the spiritual beast EXP to get to lv10 is actually taking longer time than the gems and medals. I still need a few millions of Beast EXP, but the bird will be very nice in the end.

How do I get enough exp to activate the Thunder Scorpion please??
Because every time I try I get the same stupid error that I need more Spiritual Beast exp, and it does not show me anywhere that I could find how much you need, nor how much you have. Did I build that Pasture thing for nothing, or what here?? Is there a bug that will not allow you to activate any of the beasts?? Someone please explain this to me, and Thanks in advance!!
Beast exp. can be obtained several ways. You can purchase it at the market under the black market tab. You can also get it by killing thieves. Lastly some of the monsters you kill will provide monster exp.
For me the best way to get Spiritual Experience is Lv12 resource tiles; they contain 5k Spiritual Experience. You do not always get it in times of peace, but you always get it during KE and SvS (do not farm though during SvS). During KE in my server, we have agreed to not attack resource tiles).
You also get Spir Exp in the wheel of fortune, if you are lucky (up to 10,000),
I activated my bird of hurricane and assigned him to a general. I’ve been adding beast EXP to it, but I don’t see it fly with the troops when I go into battle. Am I missing something?
There is no mistake.
Unlike dragons, spiritual beasts are invisible.
So should I not assign a scorpion to minamoto since he would be good with a dragon?
If the Thunder Scorpion is well trained and the dragon is not trained, it is better to attach the Thunder Scorpion.
If you attach a dragon that is not trained at all, the ranged attack is +15%.
Therefore, if you have already trained the Thunder Scorpion until it has more than +15% ranged attack, then the Scorpion is better.
If Scorpion is weaker than that, then Dragon is fine.
It’s a bit confusing about upgrading spiritual beast. Is it all 5 quality levels available for upgrade at any of 10 beast levels? And what to upgrade first? Is there any difference? Thank you.
