13 fast-growing neighborhoods in Houston suburbs set to add hundreds of homes in 2022

Harvest Green is a farm-focused community located in Richmond. The community is centered around a 12-acre Village Farm where residents can grow their own produce. It also features parks, trails, green space and a pool.

Robins Landing, is a 127-acre neighborhood developed by Houston Habitat for Humanity. in northeast Houston near Loop 610. The mixed-income, master-planned community will feature 468 single-family homes and as many as 500 apartment and senior housing units, all designed to be affordable for households making up to 120 percent of the Houston area’s median income.

Grand Oaks Reserve is one of the reasons Cleveland is projected for major population growth over the next decade. The 600-plus acre master-planned community has a golf course, shopping, dining and a community center inside the development.

Bridgeland is still building. Praireland Village, its first neighborhood west of the Grand Parkway will open early this year. The 7,000-home village will feature a butterfly-themed park among other amenities.

Land Tejas will bring a Crystal Lagoon to its Sunterra community in the Katy area. It will join Balmoral in Humble and Lago Mar in Texas City as the only Crystal Clear Lagoons in the Houston area.

Evergreen will be a 740 acre community in Conroe at the northwest corner of FM 242 and FM 1314. The first phase will feature 247 homes on 40-, 50-, 60- and 70-foot lots that are not yet available.

Cross Creek Ranch is a massive master-planned community in Fulshear with a 50-acre pond, a bird sanctuary, 350 acres of lakes, 32 miles of hike-and-bike trails, more than 25 neighborhood parks, five sports fields, three waterparks, a fitness center and an on-site cafe.

The Highlands is a master-planned community in Porter will feature 4,000 homes at buildout. The 2,310 acre neighborhood opened a model home for the community in December. 

Elyson was one of the highest selling communities in the country in 2020. The Katy-based master-planned neighborhood features tennis courts, trails and embedded schools.

Manvel will be home to about 12 developments that have plans for more than 12,000 lots. The neighborhoods include Pomona, De Bello Lakes and the sprawling Meridiana, which is in Manvel and also neighboring Iowa Colony.

Candela, a 460-acre master-planned community, opened the first of its planned 1,500 homes in Richmond this year. The neighborhood will be home to a community center, elementary school, dog park, pavilion and yoga lawn at buildout.

Airia Development Co. is working on a 5,700-acre master-planned community near Todd Mission and Magnolia at the intersections of FM 1486, FM 1774 and the Hwy. 249 tollway. The development is still in the planning phase.

The Jordan Ranch community features a lazy river, resort-style pool tennis courts and a fitness center. Jordan Ranch is in the top 30 communities for home building in the Houston area with 312 homes started over the last year, according to Zonda, a real estate consulting firm.
