PETA has set its sights on another celebrity target.
About a month after taking Kylie Jenner to task because the reality star paints her dog’s toenails, the animal-loving organization is going after one of the best looking women in the world.
What did Pippa Middleton do to piss off the UK branch of this company?
In a recent column for the Daily Telegraph, the younger sibling of Kate Middleton wrote about a time she tried smoked, uncooked whale carpaccio during a trip to Norway.
Pippa recalled that the whale tasted something like “smoked salmon.”
Harmless enough, right? Not to Elisa Allen, the associate director of PETA U.K., who tore Middleton apart via statement.
"Pippa is not known for common sense or compassion, but it still beggars belief that anyone, let alone someone from a country like ours, where whale meat has long been banned, could be oblivious to the uproar over Norway’s slaughter of these gentle giants," Allen told Gossip Cop.
The PETA executive continued to get especially personal with Pippa:
"Does [Pippa] think or read? What’s next, a panda steak or elephant canapé? These whales are harpooned and bled to death before they’re gutted.
"If Pippa is looking for culinary experience, some of the best high-end vegan food – recently named by Forbes magazine as a top food trend – can be found in Norway, and it’s good for the heart, an organ Pippa seems to lack."
Ouch, huh? Was this statement unnecessarily harsh? Or did Pippa deserve what was said about her?
Fortunately, the Kate Middleton baby will be born any day now, giving Pippa something else to focus on aside from this controversy.
