The WHO’s chief scientist waited until she left the organisation before saying clearly that she regretted the failure to acknowledge airborne transmission. Is there a WHO policy of denying the truth here?

At the end of this month @doctorsoumya is leaving @WHO. I talked to her about her time as the agency’s first chief scientist, her biggest accomplishments, like the mRNA hub, and her biggest regret: not acknowledging earlier that #SARSCoV2 is airborne 🧵👇 science.org/content/articl

It's ridiculous! 10 days ago Chief Scientist WHO @doctorsoumya apologized for taking too long to acknowledge that Covid is airborne and here (yesterday) @davidnabarro from @WHO lets us know that it's drobletborne and aerosol transmission occurs only under certain circumstances.

"So I was asked to convene both an internal and an external group to see if it's time to change the definitions and the terms we use to describe this. I was hoping that this would be out before I leave, but it is likely to take a few more months." They still don't dare to say it.

I noticed that David Navarro doubled-down on the "airborne droplet" narrative on his Indie_Sage appearance on Friday too - with a big grin on his face. I was about to recommend my friends watch his otherwise excellent contribution, but honestly... 🙄🤦‍♂️
