Her name means "peace" in Greek as in the Greek goddess of peace.
Irene has the traits of a Leach's storm petrel (Hydrobates leucorhous). Two of said birds are found in her Elite 2 artwork.
Irene's English dialogues are spoken with a Spanish accent.
Irene has been a subject of jokes in the Arknights community:
- In the EN community, Irene's rather ample forehead is often subjected to teasing remarks, most notably with playing tic-tac-toe on her forehead having been a fairly common meme since her first appearance in Under Tides. See this video for an example.
  - This meme gained in popularity with her playability. Several fanarts and memes depicted Irene's forehead with a game of tic-tac-toe being played on it.
- Another joke in the EN community is Irene's forehead is so "bright" like Iberia's future, or can be used as a beacon.
- In the CN community, she is a part of the joke on Rie Kugimiya, the seiyu known for her tsundere scolding style during concerts, like this one.
