Reviews for PureVPN lifetime subscription
Have been using for a day. The performance is fairly decent on a slow connection. It’s almost unnoticeable thay you’re accessing a VPN.
They’re fairly pro-active in communication. Their support is pretty mediocre though.
This purchase is, indeed, for LIFETIME service. From their Fine Print: “Subscription term is for 5 years. At the conclusion of the 5-year term, customers may renew their subscriptions completely free-of-charge by contacting support@stackcommerce.com.”
I have this and I like it. I paid this a few weeks back for a different web site. As to not blocking your IP address, I have run many different IP address sites, and all have my IP address wrong. When set to Brazil, I cannot get english language yahoo, it is in Spanish. As to using this for netflix, I cannot figure out why one would want to access netflix through a vpn unless it is blocked in your country. I also had to change my linked email address because the original was a throw away that was compromised by yahoo, so I linked it to a throw away from another company. It took about 12 hours, or less, because I did it when I was going to sleep and when I checked it early the next day it was done. I think for privacy this is a fine service. While it is only 5 years, it is better to use this for 5 than use one that does not truly block you or one one that is located in a questionable country, or worse, one that will fold in a year or two. I think that it is a fine product and has worked for everything that I have applied it to.
Everyone/Anyone considering this as a purchase for “their” lifetime, be aware, this is only for 5 years. The excuse is that “in the industry” lifetime refers to the lifetime of the product which is 5 years. You have to renew at whatever the cost then.
The sales support is slightly above average, but be aware that their tech support is well below average. Their latest software release – for instance – does not hide your IP, although the software says it is. They know about it but haven’t told anyone. OH well. But I’ll admit that it DOES work when connected.
I am not going to point out the pro’s and con’s other then to say:
1. Their tech support is the worst I have EVER encountered in over 35 years of IT experience.
2. Their “Lifetime” subscription is NOT for a lifetime, it is only for 5 years.
PureVPN is a very good, all-round choice, especially at this ridiculously low lifetime price. ALL VPNs have limitations regarding access to particular services in particular regions/countries due to legal restrictions ( No VPN is going to go to jail so that you can stream/download what you shouldn’t.) So, for example, complaints about the inability to access Netflix or to torrent from restricted location are not reasonable or fair. Besides, those companies constantly work to defeat other companies’ efforts to circumvent their restrictions, like VPN providers do.
That said, however, according to its privacy policy, PureVPN shares your information with third parties: “… to provide the information to our trusted partners who work on behalf of or with PureVPN under strict confidentiality agreements.” In addition, they use Google DNS servers, which are very secure but all of which do log information.
My two cents: Unless you’re planning to use the Internet to conquer the world, PureVPN is a good choice, especially at this price point.

Very good value with a few bugs.
Pro’s:
1. For a lifetime subscription with no bandwidth restrictions this is a terrific offer.
2. Actively being developed and supported (have had 2 issues, 1st resolved almost immediately. 2nd still ongoing bug with “kill switch”, but they are aware of the problem).
3. Very large selection of countries with servers to choose from.
4. Pretty decent speeds considering an encrypted VPN.
5. Supports torrents and other P2P (great if you choose to download “material” that might get you into trouble with Hollywood).
Con’s:
1. Tech support not always knowledgeable.
2. As others have noted, Netflix and some other streaming services block known VPN ip addresses (this is not limited to PureVPN).
3. List of protocols you can choose for security/speed do not always work with all the countries servers. You might choose “L2TP” for instance only to find you cannot connect to the Serbian server and must switch to “PP2P” or some other protocol. Would be great if the list of available servers matched your chosen protocol.
4. Must start program interface in “Administrative mode” if you wish to use the advanced options such as the “kill switch” (automatically cuts internet connection if VPN shuts down).
Don’t buy it!!!
It doesn’t work to watch films. I reported it and they said one day will work.
SERIOUSLY??? I paid a lot of money!!
How can I get a refund?
Very bad service and experience.
Netflix doesn’t work. Tried what they told me and after many attempts they said they will try to fix it, but they don’t know when. They also said that with the competition would be the same (they said Netflix blocked every VPN access). In the future, they said, they would let me know if they fix it. I want my money back as soon as possible.
I will try Zoogtv.com (cheaper and even the free version works).
