🛠️ TECHNICAL
What is a FULL Loop?
A FULL Loop is complete musical mix that is meant to loop over and over again, seamlessly and endlessly. It does not contain an introduction and an ending. Track durations vary and may be as short as 10 seconds or as long as 5 minutes. Learn more about our music mixes.
I have issues checking out the tracks, I added tracks to the cart but the basket shows empty.
Please try going to the search page to make sure you selected your license tier and currency.
After selecting them, try rechecking your basket; you should see the tracks in your basket. If it doesn't work, please email us at support@wowsound.com.
Where is the download link after making a purchase?
A download link with your purchased order will be sent to your email. Alternatively, you could also log in to your account to download the files under 'Order History'. If you're just downloading a few tracks, you'll get your download email in a few minutes. If you're downloading hundreds of tracks, it can take a while! 1GB worth of tracks takes about 2 minutes to compress!
Your licensed tracks are available to download for 2 weeks following your purchase. You can log into your account from any computer or device to download your licensed tracks during this time. Note that 1GB takes about 15 minutes to download with a 2.4G Wi-Fi.
If you do not receive the download instructions by e-mail, please check your "Spam' or "Junk" folder. The email should be in your inbox within a few minutes. If you have not received a message with a download link within 30 minutes of your purchase, please contact us. We will rectify the situation as quickly as possible.
What type of file format will the music and sound effects be sent to me?
You can choose to download the files in .wav or .mp3 format. Our .wav files are delivered in stereo (uncompressed lossless audio) in either 44.1Khz or 48kHz and 16-bit or 24-bit.
Will the WOW Sound watermark still be present after I purchase a license?
No. The "WOW Sound" voiceover is only present in the audio preview on Soundcloud. After you purchase a license, you will be able to download a clean copy.
My account doesn't exist on your site, and download links from past purchases don't work either.
We launched our revamped site on a new platform on 8th April 2022, so the accounts and past purchases are not transferable even if you create a new account on our current site :(
But fret not; we have a record of all past purchases. If you need files from your past purchases, simply email us at support@wowsound.com with your email address or the invoice number, and we will send you the files via WeTransfer.
📋 LICENSES
Am I allowed to modify the content of my purchases?
Yes you may, but the copyright still belongs to WOW Sound. As such, copying, redistribution and resale of the modified content is not allowed.
I bought music under the Common License for my game, can I use the music for my game's trailer too?
Yes, you can! We consider the game trailer as part of the same product. For music licensed under the Rare License or Legendary, you can use the music in unlimited projects.
Can I use music from the same pack for different games if I purchased a Common license?
Yes, you can! As long as each music track is only used in one game.
Can I use your music and sound effects in a stand-alone music track or perform it?
No, you may not use music in both stand-alone music tracks and for performance as our music is available to license for synchronization in media productions (websites, videos, DVDs, TV broadcasts, films, games, etc.) as background music.
Example: Adding lyrics or editing our music into to an audio track and selling it on iTunes or performing it is a copyright infringement.
However, you can use our sound effects in a music track or a performance.
Can I include your music for my video game's OST (Original Soundtrack) or as part of any multimedia template?
Unfortunately, we do not allow our music to be sold or redistributed separately as OST or as part of any multimedia templates in games, websites, etc. View Terms of Use.
If you really hope to include our music for your game's OST. Could we suggest you do an in-game Jukebox instead, where the player unlocks a page to playback all the soundtracks or cutscenes after completing the game? :)
Players who bought my game on platforms like Steam, Itch.io etc, have access to the music files when they buy a game. Does that fall under redistributing unsynchronized music?
Using our music synchronized within the game and selling the video game commercially is not a problem as long as the buyers do not have access to our music or sound effects in standalone elements. However, We understand due to the nature of certain game engines; the video games are redistributed in a folder that includes music, sound effects, art, and so on as they are needed to run the game. In this case, it's fine, so don't worry too much about it :)
How do you define '1 Project'?
One project refers to one game/film/online series(max 26 episodes). You can use the assets multiple times in one project.
Example: One music/sound effect can be used in-game and game trailer as long as it is limited to that one game. Same for a short film, the purchased music/sound effect can be used in the film/series and its trailer.
What do you mean by '1 user'?
'1 user' means we grant one user the right to use our Sound libraries. It grants one user the right to use the Sound Libraries or Bundles on one workstation at a time, although the Licensee is permitted to make and keep backup copies of the Sound Libraries or Bundles on other storage devices.
Does the music I buy belong to me?
No, you do not own the music you purchase. The copyright to the music remains the property of WOW Sound/the composer. Purchasing a license only allows you to use the music to sync to your projects and purposes in accordance with the license agreement.
Can I purchase music on behalf of my client as I am a freelancer/agency?
Yes, you can, the license will then belong to your client and the license terms still apply depending on the license purchased.
Can I use your music or sound effects as an element of a logo or branding?
No. None of our music/SFXs can be used in logos or be trademarked. If you would like use it in logos, please write to us at service@wowsound.com.
Are there restrictions on how I use music and sound effects from WOW Sound?
Yes. Our license permits usage of the music and sound effects in personal or commercial projects for yourself, your clients or your employer. WOW Sound music and sound effects may not be sold by itself, transferred, bartered, traded, shared, leased, or given away to any other party and the license may not be subleased to a third party. Please see our terms of use for further information.
Do I need to fill in a cue sheet?
You will only need a cue-sheet when you are using music for a production that is to be publicly performed on a television network, radio station, theatrical release (e.g. films or videos). The cue-sheet is usually prepared by producers or the licensor of the production.
Please remember to fill in the detailed listing of each piece of music used. Include the names of the music composer, the type of usage of the music, the length of the music, and the title of each music track on the cue-sheet.
