Miniclip has discontinued all of its web games: Here’s all you need to know

Miniclip finally shutting down

On April 6th, Miniclip stated that their long-running web game portal would soon lose most of their games. This news follows a previous announcement made by the company that their mobile applications for Android and iOS had gathered more than 4 billion downloads.

The Miniclip business is “developing” in the sense that an increased emphasis is being placed on mobile devices. This is due to the fact that an increasingly less percentage of players presumably access their games just via a desktop browser.

Are all games shutting down at Miniclip?

After an unspecified date in the summer of 2022, Miniclip’s Agar.io and 8 Ball Pool will be the only games that can be played directly from the website. The corporation offered a detailed Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section, which, while primarily consisting of numerous iterations of the statement presented earlier, did confirm some more specifics.

After the Summer deadline, you won’t be able to play any games on miniclip.com except for Agar.io and 8 Ball Pool. They also say that giving the platform to fans wouldn’t be possible because “the technology that would be needed to do this is a Miniclip-only solution.”

After Miniclip’s “shift of content,” these licensing agreements will, in effect, be canceled, despite the fact that the vast majority of the games that are currently available on the site were obtained under license from other game designers. Despite the fact that game creators are now free to do whatever they choose with their creations, players who were hoping that Miniclip will one day bring back its web-based gaming site should go elsewhere. The firm has declared that “there are no plans” for a future web-based gaming portal.

Miniclip will presumably reveal more specifics as the summer months approach, but for the time being, it could take place at any point between July and September. On the calendar for the Watch List, I will mark the first of each month with a pencil until we have additional information. We are grateful to HandMaskTar for drawing attention to the recent development.
