Massacre at the training ground in the village of Soloti, Belgorod Region could be part of a conflict on religious grounds, the Astra project writes, citing a soldier who calls himself an eyewitness to what happened.
The publication emphasizes that by the time of publication could not confirm neither the identity of the narrator himself, nor the identity of the people he names as participants in the conflict.
According to Astra’s interlocutor, the conflict began with the fact that three soldiers – a Dagestani, an Azerbaijani and an Adyghe – wanted to “write a report that they do not want to serve anymore”, since this is “not their war.” Upon learning of this, one of the commanders, whom the source calls Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Lapinallegedly “gathered everyone” and declared that “this is a holy war.”
The story claims that after that, the military personnel of Tajik origin declared that the holy war was a war of Muslims against infidels; the lieutenant colonel allegedly called Allah a “weakling” or “coward” in response, which “shocked” many of those present.
Lapin said that “Allah means a coward if he does not allow you to fight for the country to which you swore an oath.” <...> The phrase shocked a lot of people – of those who stood there on the parade ground. Because we also have Muslims among the officers – both Bashkirs and Tatars.
According to an Astra source, soon at the shooting range, three Tajik contract soldiers told other Muslims to step aside, “turned their machine guns”, killed Lieutenant Colonel Lapin and opened fire indiscriminately, allegedly killing 29 more people. An ensign named Semyonov, having heard the shooting, allegedly killed two attackers and wounded a third, who managed to escape.
The interlocutor of the publication names the alleged killers – senior sergeant Bikzot, junior sergeant Ami (he allegedly managed to escape) and Anusha.
