HELP on samsung HD103SI

November 29th, 2018, 7:46

,,i has clear G-List and Glist-50,,on SRT ..
the Drive is now frozen,, to fix now need merg G to P? how do it?

WARNING : - Clearing the A-List will make you loose all the data present on the "spare" sectors. This means that for example if during the normal use of the drive "x" sectors were considered "bad" by the drive and swapped by a spare that now have valid data when one issues the "Clear A-List" command the data on those "x" sectors will no longer be accessible !!!

If you want to recover data, never modify the P-LIST.
Adding GList to PList would be useful to repair the HDD but you would lose all the data.
If you delete GList you will lose the sectors that have been relocated.
If you lose the PLIST in principle you have lost everything.
Make a backup of the entire SA, always before starting to manipulate the SA.

If I am wrong in something please rectify. Thank you.

Fzabkar, regards.

A question.

If the Alist is deleted, will data be lost?

No.

A-List = G-List (in Samsung).

You loose access to re-mapped sectors and you will be re-directed to original Bad sector for each entre you delete on G-List.

I think he does need the data.

Otherwise why to go to the trouble of all of this ?

He would just buy a donor and use it instead of buying it and kill it moving head(s)/platters, etc ....

By the look of things i would say he wants the data.

in WD i know tha need G to P but samsung i no know

I used WDR Demo. You need to right-click your mouse to open the options menu.
Go to Actions -> Super Format -> Merge G to P
Just wait for a success or error message in the log.
After this do Actions -> Super Format -> ReMerge G to P
clear smart ...

it is correct?

I just backup the modules, Should i write to drive so will realocate?
lose all the data: mean lose sectors to remap? or lose docs, pics, etc..?

it means i deleted G-List? maybe remap again on some script mhdd? or is all lose?
Adding GList to PList without and with Terminal, means the drive no will be able again to remap?
i never should do it then?

i has made it on all my WD and reallity bad sector is increasing ...

HELLO

if HD is lost with G-List cleaned, I can use the PCB for the donor to another drive?
and the body can be used as a patient to other drives?
or just the head(s)/platters can be used?

:?:

Yes, the BODY can be used as a PATIENT to other drives .... WHAT T F ?

Ok you can use the platters ...

Drive A is drive you want to recover with lots of data and damage platters. You remove platters from your drive B and you put it on drive A. How are you going to recover now the data of drive A ? Why would you want to re-use the .... PLATTERS ?

Re: HELP on samsung HD103SI

March 13th, 2019, 16:41

sorry
I not want to change the plates and head, I know not to do this, I just wanted to know if I can still use the body with this Glist cleaned as a patient .... :?:

Re: HELP on samsung HD103SI

You will need to cut HEAD but your HEAD and not the drive...

Patient drive is a damaged drive that you do want to recover, correct ? Like in a person that is ill, a patient .... So what do you mean to use "the body" with cleared G-List as a Patient ?

Maybe if you do leave the drives alone and invest in somethng else like a better translator we could start posting something of use that doesn't look like a bog joke or someone trolling with the forum ?
