On the one hand, “scab who tries to take credit for the creative work of the mistreated workers” wouldn’t be out of place in disco. On the other, I’m not sure a scab doing just that can be trusted to present the material well.

sucks for everyone, imagine you get hired by your dream company and arrive first day to whatever the hell happened there.

Yeah but I think anyone of genuine principle would understand pretty quickly what happened, why it's absolutely unjustifiable, and why so many people are upset, and would be able to not take it personally. Especially since they never worked on it to begin with.

Dude is self-destructing so hard on behalf of a company that is going to fire him for it.

This is going to end up with a communard side character in Disco Elysium 2 talking about how much they love to use their radio roleplaying games to harass women and minorities, isn't it?

They tried. But like a civil war reenacter, forgot that the real hero was John Brown and John brown left before you arrived and was on the other side.

I'm sure the remaining team is very talented and could produce a good game. The question of whether they could produce another Disco Elysium in an environment like ZA/UM seems to now be is wholly different.

My feeling is that whoever is picked to write and direct the next game, will be hand picked by the board and investors, and it’ll be a watered down shadow that doesn’t expand on the themes of the first. Maybe it’ll be fine, but ZA/UM is showing me that it makes bad decisions.
