Because of government abandonment, ppl at high risk for COVID are locked out from accessing many parts of society. Don’t perpetuate that isolation. You may not know it but they are your friends & family. Reach out, do zoom calls, wear masks & hang outside with them. Be inclusive!

"After more than two years of publishing data on COVID-19 cases and deaths on a daily basis, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Thursday it would shift to weekly updates to its nationwide tracking of the virus.

"To allow for additional reporting flexibility, reduce the reporting burden on states and jurisdictions, and maximize surveillance resources, CDC is moving to a weekly reporting cadence," the agency wrote in a post to explain the move.

Starting on October 20, state and local health departments will now only need to report new COVID-19 cases and deaths to the agency every week on Wednesdays."

For folks a bit confused here, this is Twitter rejecting the *conditions* on the deal (i.e. "drop the lawsuit" before I pay you), not the price (which Twitter has repeatedly accepted), because Twitter knows the conditions are stupid

I'm really tired of the updates on how our agencies continue to reduce access to information in an environment where everyone is asked to 'personal responsibility' themselves out of repeat infections. Let's hope at least the weekly updates continue...

It's clear to me that disability rights isn't a liberal or leftist issue. We're completely on our own, no support even from people who claim to fight for human rights. They either don't see us as human or ignorantly, willfully assume we don't need help. That's very much not true.

As a former call center customer service rep, this is so crucial 👇. There’s nothing worse than putting the customer through a bad experience by forcing them to sit on hold, it only primes ppl to be angry and scream at u when u do get to them

These days if you're a big giant company with a phone center customer support team it should be criminal to (1) not have a feature that says "we'll call back when someone is available" or (2) at the very least have a "mute this fucking awful hold music that keeps repeating"
