#NovelAI Image Generation Progress Showcase:
When you include tags in your prompts, you may produce more of the same character with greater consistency!
That's so cool! At first i thought you've meant like hashtag of a character for example # Rem and you've used a Textual Inversion to train an anime module on a thousands of copyrighted characters, which would be cool, but I don't know how legal that is. But that's even better!
Since we are training on Danbooru, it also learns character names and their visuals. You can prompt for "masterpiece portrait of smiling rem, re zero, caustics, textile shading, high resolution illustration" and get this:
Oh my god! This is truly a masterpiece! Which Danbooru dataset do you use? Judging by some of the results of testing the Discord bot, it should be the Danbooru 2019 dataset or something like that. But maybe you're training on a 2021 dataset? If you have 5 TB of storage of course
Pretty much yeah. If we take the practice of tracing and how much people disapprove of that practice unless it's for practice. It's doing the same thing basically.
The AI makes the connection that an artist signs their work, as 'masterpieces' and 'portraits' are known to have. You know it, I know it, most of the world at large knows this, and now AI has learned it. Generally speaking most art is signed, the AI does so in turn.
Even if the AI used every piece of training data with permission this would still show up. And argument exists for whether it is art theft but having a randomly generated signature is neither here nor there
Maybe I will. Maybe I'll hand the commission artwork person an AI picture and say "do something like this, but change this, this and that". Probably more comfortable with trying to describe the whole picture I want and hoping the person understands me.
There are people who would absolutely be willing to offer their art to train an AI for the sheer science of it, but instead you're stealing that art and teaching an algorithm to plagiarize it.
Nice job.
Artists are really going to need to coordinate a a petition or something for some automated commercial use copyright legislation. The bigger the organization be better. Convince Disney this is costing them money.
