Really, the foreign licensing for this series is a massive mess from start to finish.
I don't think that's the case. Other Clouded Leopard releases on Steam never included Japanese text. Only their Switch releases were confirmed to have Japanese text.
The Japanese PC version should still be tied to NISA's version, unless something changed recently.
TBH, I'd rather buy Clouded Leopard's version. They release faster. If the right to publish these games in Japanese language has been shifted to Clouded Leopard I'll be more happy.
I thought we went away from game nto including the option of playing in original language ages ago. How come Falcom didn't get the memo after all this time?
That sounds more likely to be a license issue. They just managed to sort it out.
Usually the case that they set a higher price in japan.
What about Ao & Zero?
Again, why isn't the original version available in ALL release? That's the least to ask for in that case. Every game or almsot does that nowadays.
Personally, if I cannot use save game from the crossbell games into hajimari (and I don't really care it brings little), this removes a good part of my motivation of buying the official crossbell games from NISA once they'll be out, because I've already played them in Japanese outside of the PC version anyway. I'm more t han willing to buy the crossbell and NISA's version of Hajimari, but all I ask is that NISA's version of Hajimari have VO just every single of their previous games. I don't understand how this is not a thing by default :/
Just buy games from Clouded Leopard from now on, and stick with their version.
It's perfect, because we don't have to deal with NISA's bad localization, content alteration, slowness, etc. anymore.
They can take 4-5 years to translate, rewrite the dialogues, dub the games into English all they want. I'm finally OUT of their cycle. I can't ask for anything better than this.
Clouded Leopard is releasing Hajimari in 6 weeks while NISA will release theirs in 2023. What a joke.
