The JCJ was established in 1955 as an organization of journalists and citizens determined that media must never cooperate with any war effort. ( JCJ＝日本ジャーナリスト会議＝は いかなる戦争にもメディアは協力してはならない と決意するジャーナリストと市民が 1955年に設立した組織です)

In 1947, after the defeat in World War II the “state funeral decree” was declared null and void. Today no legal basis to conduct a state funeral exists. ( 第２次世界大戦の敗戦後、1947年に 「国葬令」は無効となりました。 現在、国葬を行う法的な根拠は存在しません )

2. The biggest problem of a state funeral is to oblige people to hold a sense of mourning for a specific individual. The people are to be forced to shoulder the tax burden as well. ( 2. 国葬の最大の問題は 特定の個人への弔意を人々に強いることです。 国葬費用の税負担も強いられます)

4. Public opinion in Japan has been negative about a state funeral for Mr. Abe. According to the survey by Kyodo News Service, while 45.1% supported a state funeral, 53.3% were against it. ( 4. 日本の世論は、安倍氏の国葬に否定的です。 共同通信の調査では賛成45.1％、反対53.3％ )

The survey by The Yomiuri Shimbun found 56% of the respondents said it is not appropriate, exceeding the 38% who said it is appropriate. ( 読売新聞の世論調査では 国葬を「評価しない」と答えた人が56％で 「評価する」と答えた38％を上回りました )

According to the NHK survey, 50% of respondents said they "do not appreciate" and 36% said they "appreciate." Public opinion does not support the implementation of a state funeral. ( NHKの調査でも 国葬を「評価しない」50％、「評価する」36％です。 世論は国葬実施を支持していません)

We call on the governments of other nations to understand that the funeral violates the rules of democracy and ask them to make a wise judgement. ( 各国の政府には この国葬が民主主義のルールに反していることを 知っていただきたい。 そして、賢明な判断をされるよう要請します )
