Digimental
Digimentals (デジメンタル Dejimentaru) are rare and ancient items used mainly within the Digimon Adventure 02 anime series and Digimon card games. (Dub: Digi-Eggs)
They allow Digimon that had less possibilities to grow and develop to perform an ancient type of evolution, known as Armor Evolution, that was used more commonly in ancient times in the place of normal evolution. That technology has been lost over time according to recent research. Digimentals tend to possesses elemental abilities that the Armor level Digimon contain.
In Digimon Adventure 02, their most common usage is that they work in an area under the influence of a Dark Tower which blocks most other kinds of evolution. Most of the digimentals represent one of the Crests possessed by the first Chosen Children. Interestingly, it was the Digimentals that gave rise to the Crests, but in some cases, such as Ken's Digimental of Kindness, the Crest gave rise to his Digimental.

Digimon Adventure 02[edit]
The Digimon Kaiser's Dark Towers prevented the normal evolution of Digimon. Armor evolution by the use of the Digimentals bypassed the "blockade" and allowed the Chosen Children's digimon to evolve.

Digimon Adventure 02: Tag Tamers[edit]
The digimentals would not have been able to be used if it was not for the events in Tag Tamers (sometime during the year 2000, immediately after Our War Game), where Ken and Ryo found the pieces and rebuilt them. The Four Holy Beasts then chose some of them to be used by the Chosen Children, and allowed them to be scattered throughout the Digital World. Although strangely, Ryo still had the Digimentals with him when he was blasted back into the past.
Digimon World: Digital Card Arena[edit]
The Digimentals can be used to Armor Evolve Partner Cards in-battle to their Armor Levels. Each Partner Card has two possible Digimentals, except for V-mon who has three. Only one Armor Evolution can be active at a time, chosen in the Partner menu. Every Digimental is linked to a specific Partner Card, so it's possible to have many of the same if they are used by different Partner Cards, namely of the Digimentals of Courage (used by V-mon, Patamon and Wormmon), Sincerity (used by Armadimon and Tailmon) and Light (used by Tailmon and Wormmon).
All Digimentals are given to the player by specific characters at specific moments of the game, regardless of which Partner Cards he's chosen, with the exception of Patamon and Tailmon's first Digimentals. These are:
- The first Digimental for the first Partner Card is obtained from Motomiya Daisuke in Flame City's Battle Cafe after clearing Flame City's Battle Arena.
- The second Digimental for the first Partner Card is obtained from Wormmon in Dark City's Battle Cafe after clearing Dark City's first Battle Arena.
- The first Digimental for Patamon if chosen as the player's second Partner Card is obtained from Takaishi Takeru in Pyramid City's Battle Cafe after clearing Pyramid City's Battle Arena.
- The first Digimental for Tailmon if chosen as the player's second Partner Card is obtained from Yagami Hikari in Sky City's Battle Cafe after clearing Sky City's Battle Arena.
- The first Digimental for the third Partner Card is obtained from Metal Greymon in Sage Tower's Battle Cafe after clearing Sage Tower's first Battle Arena.
- The second Digimental for the second Partner Card is obtained from Yagami Taichi in Beginner City's Battle Cafe after the first Extra Arena cycle is cleared.
- The second Digimental for the third Partner Card is obtained from Omegamon (the fusion of War Greymon and Metal Garurumon) in Sage Tower's Battle Cafe after clearing Sage Tower's last Battle Arena.
- The third Digimental for V-mon if chosen as the first or third Partner Card is obtained from Black War Greymon in Beginner City's Battle Cafe after beating the entirety of the post-game and obtaining 300 wins.
The Adventure 02 Partner Digimon will reference their Digimentals when fought in their Armor Levels in various Battle Arenas for Wormmon, and in their respective Extra Arenas for the rest.
