This course will focus on music theory; and will go in-depth of the 300 branches found in Maqams (which derive from Egypt, Babylon, and Iran). By the end of this course, you will be able to learn sheet music, solfege (pitch and sight-reading) and musical intervals through the scales and rhythms of Arab music.
If you are a musician who plays the guitar, banjo, cello, violin, or any other stringed instrument, this course will prepare you to apply techniques and scales used on the Oud to your instrument.
